Just one thing in my 2018 GT TSI - Paddle shifters. That would sum up an otherwise perfect car for me. Anything else would be a bonus.

The only feature that I miss on most of my cars is Google maps.

Sure, the Mercedes & the Fortuner have navigation on the headunits however they are not a patch on the Gmaps with the traffic alerts

6 Airbags, Hill Hold Assist, TPMS, Rear Defogger, ORVM Defogger/wiper blades , Rearview Camera would be good standard additions

I wish I had an onboard Ionizer/Air purifier. The kind in Kia Seltos. Given the extreme pollution outside, I'd pay a premium for this lifesaver.

Slightly OT for this thread, but you don't need to buy a 25 lakh car for a 1000 rupees feature. Ionizers /air purifiers are available online (eg. Aliexpress) from as low as rs.200 that can be plugged into the 12v socket.

Oh I got a good one at that (cost me 3K), but there is no evidence it works since it just ionizes.

Drive a Tata Storme V-400.

I wish it had an AT and a screen onto which my phone's google maps can be mirrored.

That'll do nicely.

cheers

I own the SX4 Zxi MT and I wish my next car to have the following features:
Rear AC
Ventilated seats
Rear camera
Arm rest for the left arm
DRL
Projector headlamps with long throw.
Maps

Apart from these, I don't miss any feature in my present car. I am not looking for cruise control or AT. I wish the next car to retain the following features of my present car:
Analogue meters
Key start, not push button.
Spare wheel & tyre identical to the other four.

Default Vacuum cleaners, washable interiors, what else???

Off late, vehicles are full of new tech and stuff and seldom do manufacturers come up with some really practical ones! For example, touch screens, from being cool to being absolute pain, there are features that we are forced to live with while there are some that we so much need but are either a distant dream are yet to really materialize!

One such thing is the built in vacuum cleaners in mini vans (in international markets), this is just brilliant!! imagine tucking a such a useful thing somewhere in the vehicle! Another thing is the washable interiors, the new Defender has it and our own Thar (will let actual owners do the talking on its efficacy) too has one, why aren't these just made available on all cars??

What other out of the box/practical things do you wish makes it to production??

Inbuilt air compressor, incidentally saw on the new Defender review by Doug DeMuro. Love the utility it offers.

Providing a feature depends on the utility and application. Not all features are applicable for the vehicle if most customers don't use it and offering such features for a small section of customers doesn't make sense.

For example, as @88_TANK_88 mentioned. In built air compressor is a brilliant feature and makes perfect sense on off-road and utility vehicles, but not on a city dweller like a Alto or for even that matter highway prowlers. Customers can either buy a portable tire inflator or use RSA if it comes to emergency. Having it in-built just adds dead weight, occupies space and forces every buyer to pay for the feature which they won't use.

But yes, some features makes sense on almost all the vehicles which can be accommodated as standard if cost permits. Some even come for free with just software implementation.

I personally like the Harrier's brake disc wiping function.
