We all love our cars. And our love for our cars is sometimes unparalleled. We are a different breed of people altogether. Given an option, we may end up parking our machines just as this way.

However, whatever said and done, there is always something more that we want from our cars. Something’s we wish our cars had. So I thought of getting your thoughts, on which car and variant do you drive and what features you wish your current ride came with.

I am starting with listing mine. I have two cars, so will list them separately

Skoda Octavia 1.8 Tsi (Style Plus)

• Ambient Lighting all around along with foot-well illumination
• 12 speaker set-up, something that the Superb gets
• Color MID as opposed to BW
• Door Open Ajar Lights, yes my Octavia with Navigation Trim, skips on this nifty feature
• Wireless Charging Pad
• A darker shade of beige as it is really difficult to maintain the current shade
• Manual blinds for rear windows at least, if not the front.

Grand i10 Asta (O) AT

• Reverse parking camera, instead of only sensors
• Auto-dimming IVRM, which is so handy at all times
• Auto Climate Control for AC, as the manual AC really chills the bones out
• Auto Door Lock at speeds above 15 kmph, there’s auto unlock though when you switch off the engine
• How I wish it had 5 speed AT, if not 6 speed
• Definitely a better sounding audio, as the speakers simply start giving away, the moment you increase the volume, or you play a song with deeper highs.

Since it is wishlist, I will keep it honest and realistic.

2. Pneumatic Adjustable Suspension, with ability to increase ground clearance
3. 1 meter water wading capability. (Like a Roof Mounted Air Inlet like WRC Cars)

I assume your thread is for features which are not currently present for a particular car in any of its variants.

2) Automatic boot open , just like in Elantra/New verna

Tata Nano :

1) Bigger engine, 3 cylinder maybe
2) Front discs
3) Better seats
Could have added a lot, but these 3 atleast if ever there was a wish to be made.

On Bangalore roads, you definitely need Pneumatic Suspension, to wade through the potholes lifted straight from the moon & actually in Mumbai we need 1-meter water wading capability considering the way every flat in Mumbai turns into sea facing moment it rains heavily

4) Sunroof

Sunroof would accentuate the looks of the car, especially if it could be a panoramic one, same as the one comes internationally in the new 2017 Polo

I picked up a 2015 Ecosport Titanium (O) recently.

I wish it had

1. Electric fold/Auto fold for ORVMs , yes it does not have electric fold.
2. Cruise control.
3. Rain sensing wipers.
4. One touch up/down for all 4 windows like VAG cars.
5. Grab handles . Other cars with curtain airbags offer grab handles.

1, 2 & 3 were offered in the all new Fiesta, I wonder why Ford skipped these in the Ecosport which other wise is a loaded car.

I have a Hyundai Elite i20 Asta Dec 2016 model.
Wishlist:
1. More comprehensive MID that include Distance to Empty (DTE) and Fuel Economy (km/liter)
2. Centre arm rest on back seat.
3. CD player on HU. Currently features only USB/AUX/Radio. MyMusic is a useless feature since you can only load 1 song at a time.
4. No "bonnet open" indicator on MID though the same is listed in the owner's manual. Double checked with other Elite i20s and the feature is clearly not implemented.
5. Auto lock on speed setting
6. Cruise control

Electric Auto Fold functionality comes with its pros and cons. Both my cars have auto fold function, however, I find it extremely irritating while wading through tight gaps where I want to fold my right side mirror but want my left side mirror to be open to gauge the bank of the footpath. How interesting it would be if this OVRM's came with an option of individually folding or opening basis the situation.

Ohh yes, the MID offered by Hyundai in our hatchbacks is a joke, I simply don't understand what do I do with the engine running time that gets showed in the MID of my Grand i10. Instead, would have loved to have DTE and instant average indicator.

My EcoSport AT is the top trim (almost, misses the + on Titanium): one that is as such very well loaded and yet, I wish I had a couple more features:

1) Auto-fold ORVMs: my mum's i20 has those and come in very handy during unruly bumper to bumper traffic
2) Electrochromic mirror

This thread will have interesting answers, ranging from must-haves from a safety - entertainment - snob value perspective.

My wish list is as follows :

1. Water repellent front windows, rear windscreen and front ORVMs to aid neat visibility in rains, especially at night.

2. Ground clearance of at least 250mm to help navigate waterlogged roads.

3. Front and side view cameras to aid in tight parking.

- Android Auto. I really, really wish for that level of integration with my smartphone. However, considering that I don't change cars too often, Android Auto remains a distant dream for me.

- Sunfilm. Want, but cannot do (because of the law).

Mahindra Classic:

- None. I like the fact that it has no features at all. There's a certain sexiness to its basicness.

Nissan Sunny:

- A proper rear air-con. The existing rear unit is merely a recycling blower. On some hot sunny days, the front of the cabin can get too cold, but the rear is still warm. The length of the car & lack of sunfilm only aggravates this situation.

- Bluetooth. Wasn't there when I bought it. Sucks to insert the AUX cable into your phone (doesn't even have a USB port).

*Mod Note* Please focus on features on this thread (not stuff like ground clearance which really isn't a feature).
