The old Innova owners upgraded to the New Innova as it offered a lot of new improvements over the older generation, be it in terms of interiors, technology, gadgets or the engine. Everything was new or better than the older generation.

Coming to the new Ertiga showcased, being a 1st gen Ertiga owner I see no such upgrade happening in this version. They even missed out on the ACC in this :Shockked:. The dash is all over the place, wooden trim then beige and then grey/black. Does the wooden trim of dashboard match with steering? or is it the angle? Overall the car is bigger but still on puny tires, it seems MS skips legs day. When most of the manufactures going for more airbags this still comes with 2 only. All in all disappointed by the new Ertiga.

The dash looks like they wanted to try the 2017 Audi dash look, but messed up completely. If the materials used were black, it would have looked better.

- Headlights - not the same but you do notice the similarities like the shape, the dual barrel headlamps and the chrome accents within.

- the rising 3rd row window line. A direct copy from the Innova and its sibiling, the Swift!

- Wheels - again, similar design.

- Tail lamps - pretty sure the inspiration was the Innova. Of course, they couldn't copy it directly so they just rotated the design. :uncontrol Notice the placement of rear reflectors as well.

Do I hear the MSIL purists saying "it is 70% Innova at 1/3rd the price"? lol:

Sorry for going :OT

Suzuki and Toyota have agreed to share their cars (Baleno, Brezza, Corolla).

May be Suzuki has already taken the agreement seriously lol:

Well, then they should ask Toyota to lend them an Innova and make a Suzuki Out-ova or something! Not make an Ertiga as the Suzuki Innova! lol:

Again, sorry for :OT

The front seems to be inspired by the Crysta, while the rear resembles the WRV. Overall, a nice update for the Ertiga.

Lodgy
Length: 4.5m
Wheelbase: 2810mm

BRV
Length: 4.46m
Wheelbase: 2662mm

Innova
Length: 4.73m
Wheelbase: 2750mm

Hexa
Length: 4.78m
Wheelbase: 2850mm

Ertiga
Length: 4.26m
Wheelbase: 2740mm

Ertiga is shortest in length yet offers good wheelbase, I think we have the answer on missing liters of boot space. :)

Here is the brochure for new Ertiga. Slightly disappointed about the beige interior(again)

No Cruise control, No ACC, just a 4 AT, no driver arm rest. And that dashboard looks like from 20th century cars. Not sure how it will age with time.

Absolutely! All New Ertiga is still not all new with lot of old elements which were not liked so much are still carried forward (tyres, interiors, switches).

None of the all new cars (Dzire, Swift) has got Cruise Control, Driver Arm Rest. Interestingly Brezza which launched few years back is having cruise control. Not able to understand you Suzuki.

Even though the boot space is increased just 18L (from 135L to 153L), there is a substantial increase in the boot space when the third row is folded (from 480L to 550L). This means there is a major improvement in the third row space.

But this section of the dashboard... I still can't digest the looks. It may be suitable for cars like Gypsy, but not for Ertiga.

Can we expect a cross-over version of the Ertiga like this, with some cladding and roof rails, and all those blings like LEDs and DRLs?

And the 3rd row was really closer to the rear windscreen which doesn't seem to be the case now (at least from the pictures). This one is from the first/second Gen:

And you can also notice above how the outgoing model would have never accommodated those water cans that the new one does, at least from the visuals which are most often misleading.

It will be for sure, slightly better from the outgoing generation because you can probably have a proper baggage/suitcase rest there where you could earlier only use knapsacks.

I am also wondering if they have done away with the utility area which was damn useful to stock a lot of things.

As an existing Ertiga user, I am having mixed opinions on this. Looks aren't very convincing although interior does seem better. The indian testing car had ACC so I am not sure what is going on there. Hoping that it is priced competitively just like how the existing car is.

All new ertiga from the outside looks better than the current model. So appearance wise it is a win and so it would continue to register 5K sales easily. Like the current model they are not giving ACC and so I predict the price would be almost same as the current model.

Cruise Control suddenly became a mandatory feature now? Anyway, I don't expect Maruti to give the same anytime soon in Ertiga.

And finally it is 70% Innova at 1/3rd the price :)

I am hoping those water cans are not 5 ltr ones. If they are indeed 25ltr cans that we get here in India, then that is a massive boot.

Personally i have squeezed weekend bags for 4 adults and 2 kids in the first gen Ertiga boot(without split seat) and this will definitely get my thumbs up !!
