Or rather, forget about the platform, just remove Brezza and (maybe) S cross and add all the rest to the list from MS.

As MSIL already has an AMT Transmission paired with the 1.3L DDiS Engine in the Brezza, I hope that they launch the Diesel Ertiga with this as an option for the Diesel models, even if the Petrol ones are mated to the 4 Speed AT as in Ciaz and previous gen Ertiga. Having a proper AT in the Diesel model will increase the prices by almost about or over a lakh and make it out of reach for many people on a tight budget. Keeping the fingers crossed...

An advertisement shoot was performed for new Ertiga inside a Special Economic Zone in Pune on Saturday, 12th Oct.

Since it being a Saturday (not to mention it is an IT-ITES SEZ), there were very few people present inside the premises and those who could watch the shoot closely were strictly not allowed to take any photographs.

Considering these events, the launch appears to be very close, perhaps we might see the advertisements/promotions doing rounds of television & internet during festive season itself.

The dash is too bare-bones for my liking and the AC knobs look downright cheap! For a vehicle in this price range, sure MSIL could have done better.

Rumour: 2nd-gen Maruti Ertiga bookings open

The second generation Ertiga is rumoured to be launched on November 21, 2018. According to a media report, Maruti dealers have started accepting bookings, while deliveries are expected to commence by the end of next month.



The new Ertiga has a similar wheelbase as the outgoing model. However, it is longer and wider. It has a new grille with chrome inserts flanked by re-profiled headlamp clusters. The front bumper has also been redesigned and now features triangular fog lamp pods. At the rear, the new Ertiga comes with L-shaped tail lamps and a new bumper. It has dual-tone interiors with a new dashboard, which houses a touchscreen infotainment system. It comes equipped with a 3-spoke multi-function steering wheel and a revised twin-dial instrument cluster.

In India, the Ertiga is expected to get a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine with mild hybrid technology. The engine could be mated to a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic transmission. Additionally, the MPV is also likely to come with a 1.3-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine.

Any update on availability of CNG variant at the launch?
One of my friend is looking for CNG powered family car and there seems to be no other better option than Ertiga.
He wanted to take plunge with current gen Ertiga VXi CNG but is in dilemma now (thanks to me pushing him into this situation) after looking additional space and features this new Ertiga could offer.

The Ertiga struck me as a cheap vehicle from day one. Suzuki really decided to stick in Wagon R quality stuff in a Rs 10 lakh car, which is quite sad

I was hoping to see better stuff in the new Ertiga, but one look at the Indonesian variant, and the quality of plastics used, and I was like "No way"

I have being in the new Ertiga (April 2018) in Jakarta and have had the opportunity to spend considerable amount of time the last few days due to the huge traffic jams.

Imagine covering 80Kms in 4 hrs. And you will understand how much time i have had in a Ertiga.

Few positives i notices.
1) Huge Headroom for the Middle Row.
2) Huge Window at the Middle row, makes you feel really comfortable.
3) Enough Space with the 3rd Row down.

Few issues i noticed.
1) Noise Engine & sound creeps into the cabin.
2) Bumpy ride even on the slightest broken roads.

Compared to Avanza and Innova, feels that Ertiga is not very refined.

Was at a Maruti Suzuki service station this afternoon! I asked a service advisor if the Dealer Level Trainings for the new Ertiga have begun yet? He told me that yes a few people are already gone for the training and the next batch may go this weekend. Eagerly awaiting this launch next month...
