Yes that is me. Perfect dimensions for someone like me who drives Ertiga both in City as well as on long highway trips with all rows being used.

However, bigger dimensions could also mean existing users like me get to upgrade to Ertiga. i am sure they have quite a few owners of Ertiga last last 5-6 years who will happily upgrade to another one

Isn't there a Crossover derivative of Ertiga to fit in that slot?

The new Maruti Suzuki crossover MPV will be based on the Ertiga platform and is internally codenamed as the ‘YHB Derative’

IMO, Maruti has to launch 2 versions - one with current dimensions, and another one with the increased dimensions and a bigger engine to compete in the bigger MPV market.
That would be a great idea. I don't need a daily 7-seater, but like Ertiga for its compact yet spacious nature. Increasing its dimensions will fill the void left by the older Innova. It would also probably cost 1-2 lakhs more. Ertiga was 85% of Innova at its 60% price. This would turn away some buyers towards 4M Crossover/SUVs, but would also bring in equal amount of new buyers looking for family 7 seaters.

A cross-over derivative on the same platform as that of Ertiga - if it is coming - won't be too much different in terms of size, but will have additional body cladding, roof rails, a slightly different grill, 2-tone paint scheme, and some additional features like projector headlamps etc, IMO. Can't expect that it will be a heavily reworked model / truncated one.

That is an exaggeration for sure! May be then the BRV or the Mobilio is 75% of the Innova then?

Sorry, but somehow these % logics completely turn me off! Someone the other day in the forum said that the Nexon is 80% of the Jeep Compass at 60% of the price, apparently because they are built in the same facility! Come on!

Ertiga and Innova are completely different class of vehicles and have absolutely nothing in common to compare except 7 seats.

Although the Innova was and is priced higher than what it should be ideally priced, the mechanicals, durability, Ride and everything else is quite remarkable! Ertiga on the other hand is based on the Swift and the constraints of such a build are obvious.

No offence to you, but Just carrying 7 seats does not make the the Ertiga 85% of even the earlier gen Innova. If it was so obvious, then most fleet operators would not spend 20 big ones on the Innova!

On the other hand, one car that I personally feel is as good or even better than the Innova is probably the Hexa. Slightly cheaper, better ride and fantastic interiors.

This isn't the new Ertiga. It's a variant of old one with some add ons.

👇 This is a better render. It's close to what is speculated, as told by someone who has seen this.

It's a sweet & standard design, not going overboard like the new Swift and Dzire.
Headlights look like a direct rip off from BMW 3-Series, though I ain't complaining. :P

Maruti is definitely trying to woo both private buyers and commercial taxi segments with this upgraded no-funk MPV, an apparent void left by Innova due to pricing.

All those are just renders by different websites. The actual unveil is scheduled for next week.

This front view is actually an "Indonesian" render very-close to the car and is based on the scoop by Gaadiwaadi. You can see that the interior section are exactly the same!

News18.com has an article (link - https://www.news18.com/news/auto/all...9-1714333.html) showing a rendering of the rear of new 2018 Ertiga based on the latest spy shot of the rear in Indonesia and it looks fab. Check out the pics below...

re: The 2018 next-gen Maruti Ertiga, now launched at Rs 7.44 lakhs

It's amazing how people can visualize using a blurry photo of a camouflaged car! The News18 render captures the rear glass kink properly. I don't think the tail lamps will be connected (or rather lit, they will be just connected without any light in them like the BRV).

But this Ertiga is looking great. I hope it launches with proper automatic version.

re: The 2018 next-gen Maruti Ertiga, now launched at Rs 7.44 lakhs

2018 Suzuki ERTIGA shown to a select few in Indonesia, here are some views of the same.

- The front cabin changed completely
- Luggage space is larger
- The back seat is more relieved ( space)
- The back seat can also fold one by one
-The design is almost similar to 96% with the already outstanding (on the internet)
- Engine new variant Suzuki 1500cc (p)
- Dimensional body change, length plus 13cm and Width plus 4cm
- Rear view, plus lights, almost like the Expander and front similar Innova Reborn( Crysta)
-Soft suspension linings
- Starter Push Button, no key, but still eMobillizer
- Type GL and GX is equipped with features Anti Brake-lock System (ABS) and Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD)
- Marketed in two types of transmission, manual and automatic

Quote:
So for the physical form of this New Ertiga outer side, is it exactly like the photos already circulating?- Yes 96% similar , but rear is a bit different.

Mitsubishi Expander's rear is a kind of attractive one. And seeing the spy pics, it seems like a blind copying done by Suzuki! See that D-Pillar design.
