Overall it looks like new Ertiga has take design cues from the Innova Crysta. Looks similar in some angles. Not a bad thing actually. I am sure Maruti will do a clever job for this car and it will be much cheaper than Innova. Hope Maruti will get 1.6 L engines for this.

Tyres look too puny on the Ertiga test mule. Knowing Suzuki, this will make it to final production. Comparatively, the Ciaz looks slightly better treaded.

They will get the 1.5L oil burners in both gasoline and diesel guises.

Car looks super jacked up on the recent spy pics, is it the angle or something I am missing ? But to be frank if it is a better 7 seater than the correct one, it shouldn't scrap on our roads with 7 adults and luggage.(whole point of getting a 7 seater )

You are right. The silhouette and shut-lines of the bonnet are from the Crysta. So, the rendering has a uncanny resemblance to the Toyota. Guess we will have to wait for some actual pictures.

If it indeed came with the 1.5 diesel with at least 100PS and more than 200 Nm torque with 6 speed, I'd be in love with the Ertiga again. Also, DRLs with projectors please on the facelift!

The new Maruti Suzuki crossover MPV will be based on the Ertiga platform and is internally codenamed as the ‘YHB Derative’

The all-new Swift and the new generation Ertiga twins (YHA and YHB) are set to be its big product launches for the year, helping Maruti Suzuki to sustain its position.
The company is also likely to launch in its own 1.5 litre diesel engine during the year. This is expected to power the Ertiga.

From what I know till now, YHA and YHB will be mechanically identical. Some cosmetic differences is what I am hearing.

My guess will be Mobilio/BRV type differences.

2018 Ertiga begins its test in Indonesia . No new details as of now, the car being longer and wider is acknowledged here too.

The 2018 Ertiga is likely to make its debut in Indonesia at the IIMS 2018 event which will start from April 19 to April 29, 2018.

Current Ertiga is Hatch-like, which i personally find sporty !! I might end up swaping my Ertiga with another Ertiga, provided it comes with a good automatic

In the process of stretching and widening, i feel the car will end up looking bland and too MPVish(like lodgy etc) which hardly sells. I will wait till the clear pics emerge.

Seems like Ertiga is losing the "cute compact MPV" feature which will be a deterrent for many buyers who buy it instead of a hatchback, easily roam-around in city, occasionally seat 7, and still park it in their small parking area.

IMO, Maruti has to launch 2 versions - one with current dimensions, and another one with the increased dimensions and a bigger engine to compete in the bigger MPV market.
