Edit: 110000 increase, whoa, they are getting greedier and greedier selling these tin cans.
These are the prices I found through google. Petrol base variant price has increased by a big margin but other variants are priced higher based on the extra features offered I guess.

Version-----OLD-------NEW
LXI------------6.34---------7.44
VXI------------7.66---------8.16
VXI(AT)-------8.68---------9.18
ZXI------------8.27---------8.99
ZXI+----------8.85---------9.50
LDI------------8.79---------8.84
VDI------------9.58---------9.56
ZDI------------9.95--------10.39
ZDI+---------10.69--------10.90

The top end missing cruise control is a big miss

re: The 2018 next-gen Maruti Ertiga, now launched at Rs 7.44 lakhs

Price hike makes me wonder that they could have been bit aggressive, however lack of competition gives them safe room. As we also hear Marazzo price too increases from 2019.

Current Ertiga always sold at a discount in the form of exchange bonus and some offers (baring initial 7-8 months of rush) so makes me wonder if Maruti has kept a safe room for future discounts as well

I could have swapped my Ertiga with this, if it came with Cruise control. Rest everything ticks the checklist i had. My wait continues for Harrier

I could have swapped my Ertiga with this, if it came with side/curtain airbags and capable of scoring 4 stars in Global NCAP which is highly doubtful considering that swift got 2 stars as both are based on same Heartect platform.

Maruti has no product in its offering with 6 airbags. Shameful really. The biggest player in the market with no safe product. Most other players, be it Hyundai, Tata, Mahindra, Skoda etc, have cars with 6 airbags. But Maruti is focused on reducing the thickness of panels and using plastic inplace of metal everywhere in order to gain highest KMPL.

Scoop! 2018 Maruti Ertiga spotted testing. EDIT: Now unveiled in Indonesia

Rationale behind Diesel pricing ?

Only Petrol Manual seems be priced wisely, compared to other variants. Diesel variants are priced ₹1,40,000 more than Petrol variants. Even Ciaz Diesel is priced exactly ₹1 lakh more, for the same engine. Seems, like Maruti itself is discouraging Diesel variants.

₹96k more for 4 speed torque converter also seems to be high, being very old technology.

So, except for Taxi segment, there is no reason to buy Diesel variants of the New Ertiga, unless Maruti launches the new Diesel engine.

The Spoiler which comes an an accessory looks really good and transforms the bean shape. It does look like a smaller version of the toyota rush .

Spotted the new Ertiga at Mekhri circle in Bangalore today. Rear end looks pretty sharp. This one was maroon with alloy spokes. Am wondering if some deliveries have started already?

Vitara brezza had 4 stars recently isnt it ? If i am not wrong, all these are based on same platform and Ertiga too can at least manage 4 stars if they intended.

I guess Maruti with 6 airbags can be a reality if they launch the global Vitara and the badge engineered Corolla. Otherwise i doubt on this aspect.

Brezza and s-Cross shares the same platform while Swift, Ertiga, dZire etc are based on the new heartect platform. Swift's structure was rated unstable even though Maruti claims heartect platform enhances safety. Feeling confident now?

re: The 2018 next-gen Maruti Ertiga, now launched at Rs 7.44 lakhs

It is a smart launch because a typical Ertiga buyer wants spacious interior to accommodate more as well compact exterior to maneuver in city. Just by increasing 10cm of length, they have nicely retained the dimensional advantages of Ertiga and at the same time added 40% extra luggage space plus reclining third row seats.

Pricing looks alright for the petrol variant, considering the engine upgrade from outgoing model. Diesel variants are pricey. But it should do handsome numbers as there is no competitor worthy enough to wrestle in that price range.
