His reviews are nothing more than boring. A Maruti lover who never forgets to take 1 litre water bottle even while reviewing an Abarth Punto. But I have to agree that he knows the pulse of Indian buyers barring enthusiasts.

I expect this vehicle to be a runaway success whether it has a review or not. All the shortcomings of the previous version has been rectified here - Bigger boot , reclining 3rd row , more spacious interiors and a bit more of style and gadgets. Not to mention the upgraded petrol engine and this car is going places. I am booking mine soon. Just confused between zxi+ and zxi auto. Features versus convenience.

Re: The 2018 next-gen Maruti Ertiga, now launched at Rs 7.44 lakhs

The newer version does look improved & the new 1.5 petrol engine. But, cannot get convinced of the new maruti vehicle's build FEEL. Feel the 2010 versions were much better in build.

Same Heartec platform swift scoring 2* crash rating. Diesel with a 1.3 heart. 2 extra seats or a bigger boot being the main USP. A people mover.

Wondering how the Brezza scored 4* on the older platform.

Com'on maruti. Hoping a more better build this time. If so, i might move back being a maruti owner again considering its utility value.

Could not convince myself for a maruti & went for the Ecosport last time. Also that diesel engine is no match.

At best this can be described as cheeky. Complete lack of professionalism and understanding of the meaning of embargo.

Indeed!!! And this from professional media people!!! Amazing grace!!!

When we have waited this long, what’s a couple of days, really?!! This is like people slowly inching forward at traffic lights, or impatiently honking, even when the light has 15 seconds to turn green. We Indians are great at lecturing about what everyone should do. But we happily break the rules ourselves (if not in letter, then in spirit).

Please add safety also to your list of considerations. Not the ‘we have 6 airbags and ABS’ safety, but ‘a stable structure’ safety. I know it may take some time to know the crash results, but as we describe ourselves as the ‘knowledgeable ones’ the change should start from team-bhp.

2018 Maruti Ertiga crash tested – Meets Bharat NCAP safety norms

" Maruti Suzuki India has revealed that their new Ertiga MPV has been crash tested and meets all the required Bharat NCAP safety norms. 2018 Maruti Ertiga comes with a host of safety features.

Driving convenience is backed with hill assist and Electronic Stability Programme (ESP). ISOFIX child seat anchorage, Anti-Lock braking System (ABS) to prevent the wheels from locking up when braking while driving, coupled with EBD.

It also gets front seat belt pre-tensioners with force limiters, front dual airbags, Suzuki Total Effective Control Technology (TECT) body structure, high speed warning alert, and reverse parking assist features are offered as standard fitment across all Ertiga variants.

As India prepares for Bharat NCAP, the journey towards safer cars as a norm becomes more real. The build up has at the very least seen the introduction of dual airbags as a standard feature for a multitude of cars. As per Maruti Suzuki, new Ertiga meets frontal offset impact compliance, side impact compliance and pedestrian protection compliance. "

Some Other information related to Ertiga Crash Test

"Maruti Suzuki has a full-fledged crash test facility at its state-of-the-art R&D and validation facility in Rohtak, Haryana. In the past, the carmaker had revealed that it conducts 35-40 crash tests for every new model in development

Interestingly, the 2016 Thai-made Suzuki Ertiga and Ciaz score 4 out of 5 in ASEAN ANCAP

Although this 4 Star Score was for the Old Platform, Let's hope the Indian version of New Ertiga with added Safety is not too Far behind . Just wishing MS have taken some cues from the poor 2 star score of the new Swift and have pumped in some more metal into the New Ertiga along with the so called Safety features.

SA has informed the Ertiga feels "MAZBOOT" .
Fingers crossed for reviews, hope its not Tinny like the new Swift. Can anyone who has seen and felt the car in person give a view on How "Mazboot" it feels ??

Re: The 2018 next-gen Maruti Ertiga, now launched at Rs 7.44 lakhs

So the older platform Ciaz, brezza and Ertiga get 4*. And Maruti says new Ertiga on newer platform is better and meets Bharath ncap safety standards. So should we be expecting a 5*(not the chocolate) or 2* like the swift ? Bit confusing.

Maruti says that Swift and other 8 models (including new Eriga) meets Bharat NCAP safety standards. Bharat NCAP does not seem to give ranking in terms of number of stars, I am not sure about it.

Note that Swift got 2 starts in Global NCAP whereas Old Ertiga got 4 stars in Asean NCAP, it is not known if the same was tested in Global NCAP.

What is the difference between Bharat NCAP and Global NCAP?
