Do you have similar observation in your Ertiga?

Congratulations Anurag on your New Ertiga

Yes, I felt the same in the start of both the TD, but i thought it is not so pronounced to become a Deal-Breaker. In fact towards the end of my ride, I had got used to it and hardly noticed it.

What is your opinion? Do you find it to be a Deal-Breaker in Real-life?

Also please do post your first impressions of the AT. Looking forward to it.

Not a real deal breaker but depends if one can compromise on it (read as 'live with higher NVH levels').

To me, higher the NVH levels, tiring it gets during a drive. Lower the NVH levels, peaceful the drive is. I give a lot of emphasis on NVH standards. My earlier car i.e. Swift ZDi wasn't good in terms of stock NVH levels but my current car i.e. Hyundai Creta 1.6L CRDi is excellent in terms of stock NVH levels.

The Ertiga ZXi AT is not my daily driver so doesn't matter much to me. I'd hardly drive it. If it was, I'd surely get the doors, floor and boot damped.

Now I am in a quandary. I don't want to go ahead with purchase without TD. If I wait for TD in Jan, I have to pay the hiked price

Pasco automobile in Gurgaon has got the AT TD vehicle I think. My colleague went and took a TD last week. He had already TD the manual earlier.

It seems there is No escape from the Price Hike , even if you could TD the AT , and the Car is booked right away , unless you find a Car in ready stock.

I checked with a 2-3 different Dealers regarding price hike , all the RMs stated the same - that only if the Car is in ready stock and insurance billed before 31st Dec , it is possible to avail the current price.
Even If you book the Car now , or go ahead to make the Full payment right Now , still you cannot escape the Price Hike if the Car is delivered in January or February . They cannot Bill the Car until it is delivered , as they need the Chassis Number to generate the Bill. The customer has to pay the prices prevalent at the Time of Delivery.

And If it may sound a bit of relief - the RMs were speculating that MAYBE the Ertiga prices won't be hiked.
As they thought the Ertiga prices were out in Late November , so it must have been calculated in accordance with the rising Costs. Also they felt the Company might not hike the prices of a New Launch so quickly.
And IF the price hike happens for the Ertiga, it might not exceed Rs 10000-15000 , unlike the rumours of 4-5%.

So lets keep fingers crossed and hope the New Ertiga prices aren't Hiked.

Here are some pics i clicked of 3 passengers sitting in the 3rd Row. A bit cramped, but manageable for short trips.

My SA could be wrong too but he is saying prices would be hiked in the range of ₹35,000 - ₹45,000 for the Ertiga from 1st January. Also, the waiting time currently is between 7 - 9 weeks from the booking date.

And BR-V should be safer too! Now Maruti loyalists will argue that both Maruti and Honda are tin cans and that the Honda quality as well as come down. But not at the cost of safety.

Now, how do I say that? Mr. Cost Cutting a.k.a Mobilio scored 3 stars in the Global NCAP test. Even the 0 zero rated Mobilio was certified to have no structural compromises. So, at the bare minimum BR-V should score 3 stars in safety tests.

Didn't the modern heartect platform of Suzuki not score just 2 stars with structural integrity compromised?

Safety conscious people should any day pick up the BR-V over the Ertiga.

Global NCAP crash tested two variants. The first variant was without airbags. It scored a zero star, but did show structural rigidity. At the request of Honda Car India, Global NCAP crash tested a variant with dual front airbags. This time the car scored 3 stars out of a maximum of five.

If the dealer can fit CNG kit in the new 1.5 engine in Ertiga, in theory they can do the same for Ciaz. I would for one would be very intrested to get a CNG Ciaz.

Can this be enquired or verified?

Thanks to Mr. Ashu Mohanty for sharing these pics .

Maruti uses 0W16 grade fully synthetic engine oil in new K15B petrol engine. It is made by Idemistu and priced at Rs. 1575 for 3.5L, sold under Ecstar brand.

Not going into technicalities but INR 1,575 for 3.5L turns out to be INR 450 per litre. Now, fully synthetic oil cannot be this cheap. It could be semi-synthetic at best. Full synthetic should be at least INR 800-900 per litre. So much for marketing!

Re: The 2018 next-gen Maruti Ertiga, now launched at Rs 7.44 lakhs

We changed the booking from Zxi Automatic to ZXi+ manual after a discussion with my brother who will also be driving the car once he is back in India later this year. He was not convinced with Ertiga to start with and wanted me to book the BR-V but it was a bit expensive and dad is all Maruti Suzuki till the end of this world. Plus, my brother's experience with 4 speed automatics abroad has not been exciting. But, Wife wanted convenience. So had to find the middle ground. Phew, its difficult to have 'sabka saath, sabka vikaas'
The good part is now I will get Android auto and rear camera on the car.
So the onus is now on my wife to improve on her manual transmission driving skills

I was expecting the automatic version to be delivered sooner but the wait just got longer with manual transmission :( Dealers here are non-committal about expected delivery date. The docket mentions "8-10 weeks" and a footnote "subject to change" and they are way too tight-lipped on this, they are not even making me feel good by just saying 'Dont worry, we will make it fast for you'. The last time some one was so non-committal was my girl-friend when I was asking her out for the first time.

I am yet to take a test drive just to feel how our new car will be to drive. Hoping the issues raised by many on NVH levels is not a major irritant and will resolve after a few oil changes. Eagerly waiting for team-bhp review.

Saw old & new Ertiga side-by-side on highway. Tail-lamps make huge difference to its appearance. Rearside of the new Ertiga looks more upmarket, suave, tall whereas old looks stubby, short.

Good to hear that you have upgraded. Can you please share the final on road price for this top variant? Thank you.
