Dear Members,

Spotted this car around five minutes back on the Greater Noida Expressway.

It looks like it is a new variant of Maruti Ertiga. Tried taking as many shots as I could before the driver realised and slowed the car.

However, if we take a close look it seems it's a new car which can be bigger than Ertiga.

Best Wishes

Nice catch indeed. The car profile, ORVMs, the region where it's spotted and the way it's camouflaged indicates it is from MSIL, and in all probabilities it could be the next Ertiga.

Thanks for sharing, mints21! Watermarked the pics & moving back to the Indian Car Scene.

The majority of changes seems to be have been done on the front and a welcome one at that. Please MSIL change the ageing interiors too. :(

Bare minimum, the refreshed Ertiga needs ACC, non-beige interiors, and a better petrol engine (1.0 Boosterjet?).

It's a capable package, and makes a lot of sense as a highway/touring car for a small family.

I think this will be the Innova rival in terms of size and will fit in the price void left by the previous gen Innova.

Reason: The area behind the rear door is increased. The front windshield looks huge and too wide. This for sure will be much larger than the current Ertiga, and will probably debut with the in house 1.5L diesel

I tend to believe this is the 7 seat version of Vitara Brezza!:) ( India Specific)

This could be a rival to Innova. I have some pictures of this test car with Innova. Though the pictures are not clear.

This is the new Ertiga, longer, wider and more powerful. Launch I guess is next year.

The HR plates pretty much confirm this is a Maruti.

What I tried searching for is any concept MPV from Suzuki. Couldn't find anything worldwide.

I tried seeing for any rumours for Ertiga new model internationally but even that was a dead end.

No suzuki model even used the alloy wheel design seen in these pics. The ORVM though is a giveaway that this is a Maruti.

The only news on updated Ertiga was this: https://paultan.org/2017/09/11/new-s...-in-indonesia/. But this is like a facelift. The pics show a much larger vehicle almost Innova size with a pretty large front end.

Could be the new Ertiga, but the Maruti wouldn't want to increase the size of the Ertiga by much - given the fact that it has established itself as a 5+2 family vehicle that is beginner friendly.

I feel this could be the first test shot of the Innova rival - codenamed RX earlier.

This is such a good news, but only if they offer a proper automatic. Its high time Maruti...

The car looks massive, and if it offers enough leg room for the 3rd row, the very expensive and over the top priced Innova is going to have a tough time for sure.

Hope they also make it safer, offer 6 airbags or at least 3 including knee airbag and robust body.

This seems to be a proper 7 seater. If yes, then finally we can expect some competition to the Innova from a leading manufacturer. If Maruti jumps in, I won't be surprised to see Hyundai also jumping in and that would really change the segment and the pricing (hope in a positive manner).

If Honda can bloat a Brio into a Mobilio, Maruti are more than capable in doing something Innova-sized with the Swift platform
