Such a soft launch with almost no pre-launch buzz.
Maruti with the record-smashing numbers month after month from Dzire is really seeming to put a lot of stress into the already crowded sub-4m sedan space. Suddenly, no other competitor seems to be too happy to be in that space - the same space which was seen as a greener pasture when the previous gen Dzire started raking volumes.

It is working fine - Here is Bangalore and Delhi Price details

It is XZA not XZ(O) A

XZ/XT + ~ 40K = XZA/XTA Pricing.

Maruti Charges ~ 47K for Dzire AMT variants over MT variants

I gave my contact details on exact link (mentioned by Condor). After submitting got call from TATA Pune after 1 second.

However the customer care official did not know anything about Tigor AMT.

I just filled my details, and immediately got a call back from Tata. The cars according to them have not yet reached dealerships, and they said they will call back and update once test drive is available.

Hiya Girish, If you are on a mobile site, that 'X' seems disabled, however on the desktop site it is possible to 'cross' it away every single time!!

I wish the Tigor AMT in the Diesel variant comes with the Nexon's engine, that would be the car to buy then. As stated by GTO in one of the AMT reviews (Zest I believe), the greater torque on the diesel is a boon on AMT equipped cars.

I went to Tata showroom today to check the car in case it has arrived. According to them the cars are in transit and will reach them in another 10 days. Firstly I don't know where all the customers are buying their Nexons and Tiagos from but the two showrooms I went to today ( the first one didn't have a Tigor with them) wore deserted looks with not a single customer inside.

Anyways the SA confirmed that the Tigor would not be coming in the top end optional variant with the touchscreen ICE, reverse parking camera and all which is a deal breaker for me. Also since we were there, I decided to TD the Tiago AMT and I was not very happy with it. Either the car was abused ( the SA mentioned it was side swiped by a tractor a few months earlier while out on a TD) or the AMT is a horrible thing to have. There was a horrendous lag at every gear shift and you felt a huge jerk during that time when you were pushing the race pedal but the car wasn't responding and then once the gear changed it suddenly came back to life but only to go back into that death mode for the next gear shift. Combine that with very harsh engine noise filtering in the cabin, and suddenly the Baleno CVT ( the car I am considering to buy) looked like a Rolls. I had once before taken a small TD on the then newly launched Tiago AMT and it felt quite decent.

Anyways I don't think I would really want a loved one driving an AMT car unless pressed hard for money. It is way too laggy, jerky and lethargic.

I have booked my Tigor XZ(O)P last week and today this news comes out! Called up the dealership but they said they haven't received any notification regarding this!

The touchscreen ICE, reverse parking camera are a deal breaker for me too. Thanks for the info; I better stick to my current booking then!

But many hate CVT's rubber band effect, too. I suggest you test drive and see if you can live with CVT. I know one person who couldn't with his Micra's CVT. Coming to AMT, I found it close to a torque converter in shift timings and feel, in Dzire and Duster AMTs. DSGs are the only ATs exuding fun. But then we all know about its reliability. And in any case, these small petrol ATs will never be performance cars and they are just an addition to your other regular big car. To run errands in town. Just my opinion.

Do not forget, the 1st gen Lamborghini Aventador also came with an AMT, most of the people hated it. When shifting it would literally give you megga jerks, after short drive your neck would start paining.

That said, most AMT's are now refined but still lack the refinement of othr type of gearboxes. AMT is real fun if your in manual mode and has a right combination of engine,but then it takes away the sense of auto gearbox.

There seems to be a confusion regarding the XZA variant and it's features. The dealership guy says that it comes with the touchscreen infotainment system, reversing camera and automatic climate control. These features are offered on the XZ(O) variant and the price hike from XZ(O) to XZA is INR 20k.

I think, logically it must be the XZ variant with the AMT box, as difference between the XT and XTA prices and XZ and XZA prices is same i.e. INR 40k.

Will have to wait to get a clearer picture!
