The Tata Nexon AMT

The gear stick looks sleek and premium. I'm not sure why Tata is never interested with proper automatic gearbox and still want to offer only with AMT even for Nexon which is the best Car till date from TATA.

A proper AT along with the most important cruise control feature which is available in all the cars in this segment would have been a sure hit. Tata does miss out the trick here with such a capable car.

Nevertheless this AMT seems to be good with hill hold and creeping function along with manual mode.

Hope this turns out to be a better bet among the current crop of AMTs. I'll be eagerly looking forward for a test drive to see if it is worthy of booking one straightaway.

Good to see that the white ceramic strip is gone, esp from the fog lamp surrounding area and window line. The dark silver that replaces it looks much much better. It's way more acceptable to the older folks at home now, for those planning to buy Nexon (I'm one of them). If the AMT review from our Tbhp reviewers says good to go...I might go for the AMT version (though I would any day prefer a proper AT).

Nexon is turning out to be an irresistible one, for sure!

The gear lever looks really upscale. But I don't see a slot for P/ parking mode. Is the car supposed to be left in N?

Yes it is left in neutral only. In our Celerio also there is no P mode. Only D, R and N mode.

This really looks promising! My hopes are ever-increasing! And that gear lever does look really good. Fingers crossed TATA does not charge too much a premium over the manual variant! Ideally 50-60k would be a decent premium for an AMT box.

With Amaze Diesel CVT round the corner, would be interesting to see the price difference between the two. If TATA could undercut a sub-4 meter sedan's pricing, it would be a phenomenal success as a car maker.

For the dimensions, features, safety kit and that awesome music system, even to expect Nexon AMT to undercut Amaze Auto box would be unrealistic.

I feel a 50K premium is justified as in that money they added an AMT box + Hill hold assist.

I am absolutely eager to know which engine is better suited with the auto box. Till when is the embargo for reviews to be made public?

In my recent trip to Solapur, i saw so many Tigors and Nexons. Nexon looks stunning on open roads and they zoomed past so comfortably.

TATA, ensure you don't drop the ball when it comes to service and resolving any issues coming up with the car. You have a great product at hand, don't make a mess of it. In these days of internet access, negativity and positivity spreads really fast, and more often than not, negativity spreads faster. Ensure you keep the customers satisfied so that a positive word of mouth spreads about your recent launches.

Has Team-BHP been invited for the AMT drives?

The steel grey of the ceramic instead of the white band looks better. It was too much in the face when it was white
