So Accent desipte being old can still turn eyes on even today when people are familiar with Honda Accords. |
I dont mean any insult but an Italian priest had said the same thing when I had taken him for a ride to air port, and that too in a 1993 Contessa classic 1.8GL , it sure was maintained well but calling her beautiful and that too being an Italian ? I guess its all about taste .

Lemme take a wild guess , U mean in hyundai Showroom ? lol:
Actually, if you look enough, the verna is a lot more attaractive than the fiesta. the fiesta is yet another drub model, of which it is easy to tire, but the verna is pretty much more of a contemporary design than the fiesta.

Yes, looks are really personal tastes. You cant recommend a car to someone solely on the looks of your taste.
For me Verna looks quite OK although it cant be termed excellent. But its not offensive at all. It looks better than City and Fiesta. Aveo has a different attraction though. But the frontal looks of Aveo is a turn off....
Perhaps Hyundai should think of making that front grille and rear bumper more attractive which may well make it the best looker...
guys help how to upload snaps ?
thanks vid, well have posted some snaps in the review thread plz look at them
Im seeing lot of Vernas here in China too but with a badge Accent.... There is another car which is having the same look and feel of verna, only the boot a bit different. Its a Kia model i guess... Almost every time I had a confusion between Kia and Verna... But most of them sold here is Petrols.

I was in Kathmandu last month and saw a lot of Kias, Hyundais and of course our very own Marutis.
My observation is that one Kia in particular is almost a clone of the Santro. In fact i almost thought it as the new santro till I saw the kia badge.
I could'nt spot a single verna there but the old accent is there evry much.
Guys in the latest Autocar (jan) They have mention Verna sold 2432 units and fiesta sold 2231.so it soldout Fiesta.....they say..........it seems buyers are more inclined to go in for the more Powerful Diesel Verna with its modern looks rather than the traditional looking Fiesta.....
like i said before, the initial rush for the fiesta will soon be over & the verna, which is a far better car will outsell the fiesta
i will agree with esteem lover verna will outsell fiesta, due to verna being a better car and better value than fiesta.
Of late, I hav started seeing quite a few Vernas on Chennai roads...
On a side note, I saw a brand new smashed Verna at the DSC Hyundai Guindy workshop y'day, When i asked the service engr the story, he said apparently the teenage son of the buyer of a 2 day old Verna was racing it on ECR while inebriated and hit a parked Truck at high speeds....Now I do not kknow the NCAP ratings for this car but what I did see was that the crumple zones had done their job well....There was no visible damage to teh passenger cabin, other than a cracked (but not shattered) windshield, little damage to the radiator (bent slightly backwards) but the bonnet was a total mess.....
