Is the old style back in trend. The front windshield looks very similar to the Fiat Padmini...Old is the New i guess. The rear to me has a feel of the Fabia. Some of their vehicles have an amazing and quirky design. They killed the beautiful Zen to get the Estillo and then the Wagon R became boxier and boxier.

To be frank, have very less hopes from MS when it comes to concept cars from them. The way they convert concepts to real cars is not that great.

Watched the live launch on Facebook. It looks so much like Nissan Juke. Front-on resembles KUV a lot. Looks futuristic alright.
It's a concept car. Let's see how it'll look if at all it comes into production.

Knowing the history of Maruti Suzuki's concept cars,expect the production version to be mellowed down.

As a concept it is the star at the Maruti Suzuki Pavilion,




Here is the summary as a concept:

- Will find a segment between Ignis and Vitara Brezza

- Design elements of he Future S is closer to the Brezza rather than the Ignis, and looks more like a traditional SUV

- Gets the SUV credentials, the nose is flat and the bonnet is set high.

- Contrast coloured A-pillar that’s nearly upright and adds a square dimension

- Aggressive face with slim headlamps with the unique LED DRLS, the chunky fog lamp surrounds and the tall skid plate lending to the aggressive look

- The headlamps are connected by a slender grille which, interestingly, sits on the bumper sandwiched between the grille and the well-sculpted air-dam.


- SUV gets suicide doors which add to the boldness of the overall design

-The W theme continues over to the rear as they make an appearance on the all-LED tail lamps

- Expect a 2020 launch as India shifts to BSVI emission norms. Engine lineup to use some form of hybrid power-train. The 1.2 petrol and the Suzuki new diesel are possible engines that could power the micro-Suv!

Maruti plans its SUV ( micro) portfolio.

- Zen could the name of a compact SUV or a small crossover. ( Future S)

- Maruti Suzuki might add a small SUV to the Alto brand.

- Be it Alto, Zen or a new brand altogether, the new SUV will be future ready with electrification option right from the word go.

This new SUV will take its design inspiration from the Future S concept and will sit below the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and will also be the youngest SUV in the company’s product portfolio.

Based on Concept Future S, the Maruti Y1K could launch with a 660cc turbocharged petrol engine .

This engine is also expected to be used in other future small cars from the company.

The 660cc turbocharged engine for the Maruti Y1K is expected to offer a maximum power of 51 PS and a peak torque of 63 Nm
