The reviewer praises the new petrol engine and gearbox. IMO Ford should have based the dragon family of petrol engines on 4 cylinders rather than 3.
Ford has given good styling and top notch safety to this product. However they should have fixed some essential features like folding and split rear seats, adjustable rear headrests, soft touch plastics, projector headlamps with DRLs, telescopic steering adjustment. A new steering wheel and dashboard would have given a fresh appeal to the product. Nevertheless it is a very good attempt by Ford, however sales number and pricing will determine it's success.

I came across this video where the Ford honchos are answering question from Team-BHP folks.
T-bhp : What is the rationale behind launching this product
Ford : Everyone wants to buy a SUV........... (and then goes on to somehow believe that it is a SUV)

You mean Fiat's Urban Cross which is now a dead product.

Except for the weird brown color dashboard, I sure like what Ford have done with this pass of the Figo. Might actually find more takers than the standard Figo.

They should have offered the new Dragon engine and not the weak 1.2l. 120nm of torque is no good.

And Ford does seem love brown/earth colour dash for figos!
Remember the first gen Figo with that Red dashboard option?

Would have loved to see the 1.5l. Should have at least offered it on a 'sports' edition with NO SUCKY DECALS. Maybe they will in the future. One can only hope.

Any information about rear seat split-folding down. The brochure is not explicitly clear, however, customer-care from Ford believes the feature is there - but not yet confirmed.

Does not get split-folding seats. According to the brochure, all the variants have full folding seats. The video reviews also confirm the same.

re: The Ford Freestyle. EDIT: Launched @ Rs. 5.09 lakhs

The rear seat completely folds down, it does not split. Its a single piece unit.
Frankly, this car ticks all the boxes except 1. it does NOT have adjustable rear headrests and that as of now is an issue with me.

Anyone who is taller than 5.10 will not find any support to rest their head, and this in a long journey is extremely painful to do. I know and some local garages will be able to fabricate Aspires rear seat into this one, its not an impossible task, but still, how can Ford skip this? My 7 yr old Ritz has it. You make a car that can go fast, and that can break well too, but one needs to know that most of the cars on our roads are still without ABS, so you might stop really quick in an emergency, but chances of someone hitting you from behind is high, and in that case, having an non-adjustable rear headrest can be dangerous.

Here is Motobeam's review. The LCD screen is bigger in top most model. Yay!

Exactly. First the WRV skipped and now the Freestyle has joined the brigade. It's such a irony that the Freestyle actually scores really well in the safety department with 6 airbags and segment first traction control but misses out on rear seat headrests.

Other than that it's a great effort by ford to revive the Figo platform. It looks the part as well, even though it mimics UC/Avventura from front. The sad part is that it comes only in boring colors. The only vibrant color is black which won't look great on a cross as the black claddings will get camouflaged. The ES's red and blue color or even the earlier mars red would have done wonders to its desirability quotient IMO.

The Autocar review is also up. The common consensus is:
1. New Petrol engine has strong linear mid range pull. Sporty exhaust note too.
2. New kit addition brings the car closer to competition.
3. New gearbox has smoother shifts.
4. NVH is good. Steering is lighter than before.
5. Every reviewer is complaining about rear fixed headrests. Common Ford.
