Wow !! Wow !! Fully loaded at 10.45L OTR Mumbai. Looks good with 120 PS@3000 RPM and 31.4 Nm@ 2125 RPM.

This one is going to be fun. Skoda - look out , the General is in your rear view mirror now.

Fully loaded LT gets the Dual Airbags and ABS , turn indicators in ORVM. Standard 15 inch tyres across the range with alloys for the mid and top model.

I think one BHPian is going to feel bad - real bad. Mate you listening ?

where did you guys get the pricing from? When you click on the price link on the website it opens a pdf file that says "prices will be avaliable shortly".

Top end model has everything! ABS, dual airbags, leather seats with steering and hand brakes and ORVM with indicators! Climate control and sunroof are the only things missing.

The sundaram guy was like, "skoda, hahahohoha..."

Any exact info on pricing of top end ?? If they keep it at 11 lac the top end its gonna eats some market but lets wait and watch Skoda's bread and butter is their diesel so they ain't gonna loose market to Optra just like that..

There sure be a drop in prices of skoda so all those willing to buy it wait for some weeks

If thats true than the Skoda TDi still has an edge in city driving. Even though its 90PS, its a hoot to drive.

Skoda TDi with Petes is 110bhp so that is not close to a stock Optra which hits a ton in 9.5secs, and with petes expect it to be 150bhp ~ to a RS and will whip a RS too thanks to the massive torque.

I got the price from the PDF file. Scroll down and down and you get Maharashtra ex stockyard - the diesel prices are also mentioned.

or is it ? let me check again lol

EDIT - seems like I got lucky , WOW ! now it says prices available shortly but when I saw it earlier it gave the whole pricelist for all models including the diesel. It even showed the dealer margin as 26K odd something. I should have saved the file man Maybe it was an error by them ,the time the site went live and they had the PDF on the site as well.

So guys the LT Optra TDCi fully loaded is 10.45L OTR. You heard it first from normally_crazy

The low end price was 7.xx ex showroom if I remember right

ps - I dread to think how you guys will pounce on me if its priced above that !!

I am not talking about the numbers, just the turbo lag(as Rodeo pointed out) which can be irritating in bumper to bumper city driving.

Thanks alot NC, that was nice piece of info. When i check it, it says coming shortly, anyways i think with this killer pricing, this car is going to take the share of Verna, Fiesta and most importantly Octavia TDi

All diesels have turbo lag, my DDIS kicks in by around 1900 RPM, so its all about keeping the car in the turbo band, and yes with petes the turbo lag becomes less.

Well if you have driven the Sonata Embera CRDi, you will know what i am saying.
I just hope the lag is not as much as in the Sonata.
Anyways, i think i proper test drive is needed to come to any conclusions about performance.
