ENGINE: Turbo lag is definitely evident and the car feels quite lethargic between idle and just a shade under 2000.

CLUTCH AND GEARBOX:

Gearbox, extremely notchy and needs to be slotted carefully.
BRAKING:

Completely agreed with this. Only negatives i found in the car are turbo lag and notchy gear shift.

I dint find the turbo lag extremely annoying. It feels like the silence before the storm
my only gripe with the top end model is the lack of climate control would readily do away eith those leather seats for climate control and a sun roof

Man, 314 NM of torque! That is awesome and will make the common-rail diesel way superior to the 1.6 and 1.8 petrol versions. I saw the ad and it states a 0 - 100 dash of 9.8 seconds. Isnt that quicker than the 1.8 petrol? The Octavia 1.9 TDi finally has some genuine diesel competition.

Only concern appears to be the turbo-lag and will await some more test-drive reports for an opinion on that. What is the price differential over the petrols?

Are you sure? They said even orange does not have. Otherwise they would have got it from them. please can you confirm if Orange has that colour.

I am going for the middle model LS.

It costed me 10.25L , i think + they giving me matting, mud flaps and teflon coting.

Might or Might not, since it depends on individual priority.

I saw on HT channel and they were quoting the company figures of between 12-14 as FE for city driving, although it seems a powerful machine and a big chasis but some other competitiors offer good FE too and so they will still have their customers, like I said depends on individual preferences.
