I'd love that and so would the market but then God help the Trailhawk, unless they price it sanely!

With the deleted features over the Limited Plus now expecting FCA to price the Trailhawk just slightly above the Limited Plus.

I can understand the 17 inch alloys. The other features are a must have in a car that is going to cost above 30 lakhs OTR. :

Quoting my post from the 18th of May.

Auto car confirms the missing features today.

re: The Jeep Compass Trailhawk. EDIT: Launched @ 26.8 lakhs

Just heard from a reliable source that the TrailHawk would be a BS6 variant with SCR in place.

As we can observe in the pics of the engine cover, the cover as such is different when compared to the outgoing variant and the dipstick position is also changed.

You mean the generic terminology will be used " BSVI Compliant". But when released now it can only be registered as BSIV and will remain so.

re: The Jeep Compass Trailhawk. EDIT: Launched @ 26.8 lakhs

Autocar reports Harrier will get the same BS6 engine/gearbox as the Trailhawk, which would mean a bump in power from 140 to 170ish BHP.
Quote:

The soon-to-be-launched Jeep Compass Trailhawk might stand out for its added off-road hardware, but it will also have another first to its name. The Compass Trailhawk will be the first model in India to be powered by the BS6 emission norms-compliant version of FCA's 2.0-litre Multijet II diesel engine. The BS6 version of the engine will be rolled out on other versions of the Compass over the years and will also find its way under the hood of the Tata Harrier, which uses the same motor.
Sources privy to the development project have confirmed that work is underway on fine-tuning the engine for both SUVs. Images from Autocar India reader Rijul Pujari also show test mules of the Tata and Jeep SUVs together, albeit in different states of camouflage.
Interestingly, while the power output of the BS6-compliant Compass will be in the vicinity of the current model's 173hp figure, the Harrier is set to see a big jump from the present 140hp. The engine will make a higher 170hp or so on the Tata Harrier, as well as on its seven-seat version, the Tata Buzzard, which will go on sale in 2020. Diesel engines aside, the Jeep and Tata SUVs will continue to share the 6-speed manual gearbox from FCA. However, the two SUV makers will have their own solutions for automatic gearboxes. The Jeep will use a 9-speed torque converter auto, which will also make its India debut on the Compass Trailhawk. The Tata models, on the other hand, will use a Hyundai-sourced 6-speed torque converter auto.
Source.

re: The Jeep Compass Trailhawk. EDIT: Launched @ 26.8 lakhs

Those tires look like H/T. Nice set of wider A/T's would have transformed the look. With current fan base, AT version of Compass should draw decent crowd. If they can throw some more fancy features, they should be in a position to command some premium as well.

re: The Jeep Compass Trailhawk. EDIT: Launched @ 26.8 lakhs

Globally the Jeep Compass Trailhawk enjoys about 225mm of Ground Clearance, unfortunately the above slide mentions the Indian variant will have only 205mm (understanding it is unladen GC)

If so, I think Limited Option Black (well kitted too) is more than enough for 90% off-roading without dragging those bumpers (especially front ones).

ARAI requires the manufacturer to quote laden ground clearance. So the 205 mm looks fine.

Considering the missing tow hooks on the front, it should be an easy fit.

Not sure about the rear as there is an extended tow hook present.

With the missing features over the Limited Plus, I expect this version of the Trailhawk to be priced only slightly above the Limited Plus manual.

I expect it to be around the 30-31 lakh OTR price. I am betting on FCA to be aggressive on the diesel automatic.

I expect FCA to price the Limited Plus diesel automatic above the Trailhawk with a lot more features in the future. I am sure there will be a variant repositioning on the top specs now.

Hah !

I was waiting for someone to ask me this as i was ready with a reply.

^ Check this excerpt from the TEAM-BHP official review of the Jeep Compass.

It clearly mentions;

Laden GC = 155 mm
Unladen GC - 178 mm

Trailhawks are 20 mm taller than regular Compass' then how can 205 mm be laden GC of the Trailhawk Compass ?

Naughty you: I think the GC on the regular compass got messed up due to the low front deflector. I guess it was measured from that point on. That will not happen with the Trailhawk. I guess now the calculation will be from where ever the lowest point of the SUV is.

This was my only reasoning. Also I guess the ARAI revision and the Jeep Compass launch was at the same time so they were able to release both the GC numbers. I am sure now they cannot quote only the unladen GC. They have to release or state the laden GC only.

So the international GC of 225 mm unladen is 205 mm laden. Looks just about right to me.

My theory could be wrong, will stand corrected ?

True, the front deflector issue had confused a lot of people with the GC calculation, hence let's wait for some more official clarification
