May be bit early to say, but I feel this car is same dimension as current Creta. I was hoping for the increase in the width especially, will wait for the official specs. Not sure if they will be unveiling all this today itself.

Kia Seltos Officially unveiled,

- To go on sale in August

- Gets 2 petrols, 1 diesel and 4 transmission options

- 8 colours and additional two tone options on the Seltos

- The Kia Seltos will be BS6-compliant right from launch

- UVO connected car, 10.25 touchscreen, 8 “heads up display , surround view cameras , blind spot monitor and 8 speaker Bose system & sport Gt line with 1.4 litre T GDI with 7 speed DCT (the first sporty SUV in this segment)

- Part of the Kia #Seltos' safety equipment list are six airbags, ABS, electronic stability control, vehicle stability management, hill start assist, front and rear parking sensors and a blind spot view monitor

Kia's UVO car connectivity system





UVO connect is Kia's version of the Bluelink that we recently saw in the Hyundai Venue.

Features -

1. Access to basic diagnostics of the car at any moment.
2. Geo-fencing
3. Real-time vehicle location
4. Speed alert system
5. Curfew limiter - When the car is driven post the set time, the UVO connect will send a notification to the user's phone.
6. Voice command system
7. Vallet mode - restricts the access of the driver to the infotainment system unless unlocked by the owner.
8. Remote start/stop via cellphone app (Remote immobilization in case of theft).
9. Remote in-car air purifier start & Remote Air Quality check (via app).
10. Auto collision Notification system
11. SOS emergency assistance - which alerts RSA.

FANTASTIC packaging, I say this because they have put in true luxury features for a change, the mood lighting, the Bose speakers, in-built air purification (needed in a dust bowl like India), rear door curtains and 2 stage rear seat recline.. absolutely everything I'm looking for in the next car (I don't care for other gadgetry and connectivity options).

That and with the combination of IVT+DCT+6 speed torque converter Kia is breaking many barriers as far as transmissions go. Looks like Kia knows what MG is bringing with the Hector and they've shown that they can up the game to a much higher level.

Between this and the Hyundai Kona E, which I believe are 2 cars with perfect size (even if not a little too big for India) and perfect functionality, it's gonna be fun deciding on our next car, next year, as I'd prefer higher seating and more compact dimensions next.

Oh my my! Kia is arriving with a bang.

Firstly, they are starting their innings with a very hot segment. Secondly, the product appears to be pretty complete in terms of engine options, transmission options, and features. For those who saw the webcast, the product planning head (forgot his name) mentioned that they want to define a new phrase "Value for Luxury". Hints a lot about the product cost. This will surely come at a big premium vs the Creta which itself seems overpriced (sometimes)

Impeccable. Loaded to the gills, that is what I can make out of the first impressions. If Kia prices this right it would create shockwaves. The interesting thing is the GT Line. Looks fantastic and I would prefer it any day compared to MG Hector or any other.

Looks absolutely smashing, does the Seltos. Perfect size and the premium build quality to go along with it. Just hope that the petrol engines do not disappoint, and this could well be avery strong contender to anyone upgrading from the C segment sedans or compact SUVs in the Indian market. Really like what I see here. Look forward to more details and drive experiences in the coming weeks!

Well well, Seltos does seems a promising car. With whatever I've seen from the live streaming, everything seems so well put together and it screams premium from every corner seen from the initial looks. The best part is launching all possible engine and transmission options together which is something TATA should learn from Kia. They surely have done there homework and are out all guns blazing.


Only thing comes to my mind is the pricing. With the equipment list it should command a premium over Creta, but that would bring it very close to the segment of Harrier/Hector/Compass. Lets see how Kia prices it. *Fingers-crossed*.

Like we have the Octavia and Jetta sold by 2 brands but owned by 1,
seems we would have the Seltos & Creta sold by 2 brands, again owned by 1.

Several similarities in 2 products but sold as unique option by the same seller Kia is owned by Hyundai and globally pretty much every Hyundai is available slightly cheaper as a Kia.

True - but at the top end of the range. With the engine and transmission options, probably safe to assume Kia might come out with number of trims. But maybe always premium to Creta and just under the Compass.

Am not sure though what's the trend in this segment- Creta/Harrier/Hector. In the Brezza/Venue/XUV3OO segment though, top end trims are surprisingly the most preferred!!
