If this picture is anything to go by, the Kia SP Concept will be one exceptional car.

The Center Console houses 2 Screens (Infotainment & Instrument Cluster) like E/S Class. But, look at that AC Controls, one can see Dual Zone Temperature Control, Heated Seats, Cooled Seats (All Absent In Creta).

But the thing that fascinates me is Dual Fan Speed Control, I don't think any car has that feature, not even the Maybach & RR Phantom. Well done Kia .

Now look at the Steering Wheel, there is a button for Horn, usually it'll be in the pad of steering wheel. The controls on steering wheel are touch sensitive type.

We know that this is a concept, but if these make it on to Production Spec cars, then Kia have a winner on their hands. I think they will be offering exclusivity in each & every car they launch in the Indian Market.

It'll be interesting how Kia prices it here, because they also have Tata's H5X which has garnered lots of interest post unveil. Rumours are that with H5X, Tata will be positioning it above Hexa. I hope it's not true.

My view is that Kia will price the SP at par with the Compass, but with more features, like Hyundai. So while the entry level Compass is pretty bare bones, the Kia SP may be pretty well loaded.

The same platform may be then used by Hyundai for the next gen Creta, but since Hyundai is supposedly also working on a Brezza Rival, I think this new gen Creta may become a little bit more expensive and occupy the slot between the new under 4M SUV and the SP concept. Thus Hyundai may have the entire 10-20 lakh bracket covered with 3 SUVs.

KIA to select the name of its upcoming SUV from the final list of 4.

Kia has decided to let the people name its first product in India and of the many entries it received, four have been finalised:

- Tusker
- Trazor
- SP-Z
- Trailster

Kia is again seeking crowdsourcing to finalise the name with Indian nationals invited to choose one among the aforementioned

The voting process will be open for all till 20 June 2018. The person who coined the winning name will receive one of the first units of the Kia SUV when it is launched in 2019

As of June 4, 2018, Tusker has got 1,451 votes, while Trazor has 1,001 votes.

Kia Trazor sounds better IMO, but most people seem to prefer the former.

Kia SP/Trazor spied for the first time. Production design gets toned down from its concept.

The Kia SP Concept’s production version has been spotted testing in South Korea.

it is clear that the flamboyant design of the SP Concept has been toned down, especially the muscular wheel arches. The all-LED headlamps from the concept have now been converted into projector lamps. Another set of lights can be seen placed below in a staggered fashion. The ‘Tiger Nose’ grille design looks pretty much like that on the concept, while the bumper design seems to have been tweaked for practical purposes.

Will debut with New BS6 Complient 1.5 Petrol & Diesel Engine Options. Transmission options will include Manual & Automatic like Hyundai Creta.

Will also get Hybrid Option at later stage (2020).

KIA's first product launch is likely to be ahead of schedule.

The SP- Concept is now likely to be launched in 2019 April with deliveries commencing in late May.

Sources in the dealer community who are signed up with Kia already have also shared with carandbike that plans for an April 2019 launch has been shared with them as well. Kia intends to be present in the top cities across the country which will ensure an 85-90 per cent coverage of the main car buying population from word go

Eagerly waiting for KIA to launch their range of vehicles in India, including the SP concept.

For the past few months I have traveled extensively on numerous Kia Ceratos, Optimas and even Sportage, all as Uber cabs here in middle east, and these machines seem to be a very good value for money according to the drivers.

Particularly impressed with the Kia Sportage SUV. The quality of interiors and ride quality is quite decent, and its a looker !
