When compared to Creta, Seltos looks premium (Looks are subjective). By going through the thread, I sense most of the members from our community are impressed with the list of features it offers . The only suspense behind the curtain is pricing.

At least for the early birds they can offer a sensible introductory price. If they get off to a brisk start it helps the company to gain the momentum it needed as a new automaker in a price sensible market

Any news on Media Drives etc? I'm in market for a decent Auto SUV. Was sure Harrier was the one and even pre-booked only to be disappointed later with no auto launch.
Hector was next and again auto is delayed a bit. I'm hopeful of 1.4l turbo in Seltos and seems a better proposition to me compared to Hector. Seltos is about just right in size, high on features and should be priced in and around Creta. I don't need big sunroof or bling features. Hope I can end my wait with Seltos but this recent trend of launching new cars is just getting too far stretched. I think Kia had a 'launch' event just to keep prospective Hector customers on tenterhook and make them wait longer. Most of their dealers are still weeks away from being ready. I had seen soft launches earlier but recent trend especially of Hector and Seltos are becoming a bit annoying.

I think CVT(IVT) variant also have terrain modes. Check Youtube video of White Seltos which was displayed on 21st June. That IVT variant had terrain selection knob. IVT also doesn't have 10 inch infotainment, disc brake on the rear wheel and no head up display. Look like there is no top of line model of Petrol IVT.

If I remember correctly, the same channel had earlier leaked the teaser video. Some of the shots of the Blue shade taken from the video. Looks really good and personally glad its the Navy Blue-ish shade rather than the bright Blue that Hyundai uses in Creta/Verna.

The only other shade in the video seems to be the White-Black dual tone. Although the White-Black dual tone looks really nice, I doubt how it will look with the GT red lines along the side and front bumper. Having a feeling that it might look overdone.

MG has announced it's prices for the Hector (Ex - showroom starts at 12.18 lakhs) and this would definitely help Kia position the Seltos accordingly.

Let's hope Kia prices it just right, so that people start talking about the car and not about the price, as happened with the XUV300.

After Hector pricing Kia with those 115 bhp engines should now be very cautious of pricing Seltos. Pricing it above Creta and directly in the Hector territory will make it look overpriced. And anything overpriced will not sell until it is a Toyota or a Creta

You just echoed my thoughts, sir. This car is supposed to belong to a segment or half-a-segment above your regular CSUVs (read XUV300, Nexon and the ilk). Agreed that the driveability and performance of a car is determined by various factors, the power/torque figures for the former two are still meh for the segment. It's in here that the turbo-petrol catches your attention. Let's see how it fares in terms of ride quality, handling and overall performance.

Korea gets 7 speed DCT, and we get CVT
Korea gets a cheaper starting price.

And count me in the minority, but I don't even think its a particularly good looking car.

Butch looking and macho, yes, especially with that flat bonnet, but good looking, nope. Not in my books at the very least.

The more i see this car the more mundane it has started to look. The only highlight of the design is that grill-headlamp integration rest is just the another crossover type design. Also the Korean interior looks much better than that failed attempt of imitating the S-class's integrated display console on the Indian Seltos, that large plastic part looks gaudy from the inside and to the onlooker from the outside as well.

Wish they could sell the electronic 4WD version here. I too don't like the integrated infotainment+instrument cluster unit. International version looks so much better.

The tax structures are completely different. GOI milks the car manufacturers like no other country, except Singapore maybe, but thats for totally different reasons!


Seltos looks like a very well finished product and will not want to be competing with Chinese products on price. My hunch is it will be priced 11.99 - 14.99!
