Does the dealer or any online store have seltos specific wheel locks. Can you give me the specs/info so I can pass onto my dad. Thx for the help!
You can check these ones, which I saw in a nearby tyre shop. They look great and have special key to open the wheel whenever required. The dealer was also claiming high about the durability with no chances of rust.

Delivery issues are dealer caused. It has recently been unearthed, from confirmed sources working in KIA that the dealers are manipulating deliveries of certain customers to favor the elite and privileged clients. We found out that a dealer in Delhi NCR was showing bookings of customers as lost to put their prefered customer above in allotment. And they did this multiple times. Showed booking as lost, moved down allotment chain, showed found then showed lost again and the cycle repeats. KIA is silent on this so far however there are investigations going on by their main offices. This is unacceptable behavior and these dealers need to be punished severely.

When i went for a tyre upgrade, I got wheel nut locks ( set of 4 ) for 500 bucks and that can be opened by a specific spanner only.

Works for me.

I bought it from the tyre shop . The shops have 2 types of locks

a) All wheel nuts are replaced ( Costs 1700 for set of 16/17 nuts)
b) only 1 nut from each tyre are changed ( Costs 500 for set of 4 nuts)

We pre-booked on Day 1 and finally two weeks ago dealer called my dad, saying please submit the check for full amount. My dad asked if the car is at the dealership and whether he can come and "see it". They said first payment has to be made to "see the car".

My dad was pissed and just hung up on the SA that day. He called again to ask why a payment is required to see a car and the SA said they have allotted the car to someone else "since we refused delivery".

I reached out to Kia customer service on twitter but it was a complete 100% ignore/no reply.

Finally my dad got a call again yesterday asking is he willing me make a payment (i.e. without seeing the car/before arrival at dealership), to which my dad said NO. They said it's required to book the car for sure.

My dad said - I'll come and see the car, do a PDI and then give you the full amount. Take it or leave it.

Basically, in the next week or two my dad might or might not get the car depending on if someone in the same city is willing to give money before "seeing" the car or not. LOL

Great dealership oversight by KIA.

Re: The Kia Seltos SUV (SP Concept). EDIT : Launched at Rs. 9.69 lakhs

I have been following this thread with interest and great to see such fervor in sharing wonderful feedbacks and information.

I have done the booking for the HTK+ D MT version yesterday at Taapasi Bangalore and eagerly waiting for "Her" to arrive.
During the test drive that I took through the crater ridden surface of Namma Bengaluru, I felt that "She" was quite planted and tended to swallow most of them. I have a MS Ritz ZDi which I use for daily compute, hence my baseline comparison is with the baby Ritz. There were lot of positives however there were some points that were bothering me during the test drive and wanted to check with the gurus here on some tips.

1. The gear shifts : the shifts are butter smooth however I felt it to be long, if that is what it is called. During the changes I could feel the neutral/center position and then there is a micro second for it to move to the next gear. It could be just me as I am used to driving the Ritz and the shifts there are quick and short in travel.

2. Clutch : The clutch travel seems to be a long one from my existing ride. I need to press more than what I used to do on the Ritz, for it to be completely pressed.

3. Seating position: I had to literally stop the car twice to find the right seating position. I am a 5.6" person and I tend to keep the seat height on the higher side. Doing that on this one had its challenges. My left knee was rubbing against the plastic cladding just below the steering wheel whenever I had to drive on half clutch. So to avoid that, I pushed the seat back a little. That shaved off the advantage I had on the clutch pedal as now I was having difficulty in pressing the clutch completely. Finally I had to lower my seat, a bit more, to overcome this. Though it is not the comfort position I prefer, the visibility of the edge of the bonnet, did ease a bit of the mental agony.

4. Placement of the button on the gear stick: when downshifting to 1st, I was accidentally pressing the button on the stick which, felt like it suddenly slotted into reverse. Since I had not released the clutch, I pulled it back to neutral and then slotted it back to 1st. It was the position of holding the gear knob, which resulted in this. I didn't want to explore more on the TD vehicle but will be looking out for a workaround for this one.

Other than the above points, "She" was amazing. Now I am waiting for her to come. The SA told me it would take a month for this variant however, I have requested for an allotment in January 2020. That would save a year from the registration perspective.

Great dealership oversight by KIA.
When I bought my car, I found this experience also equally frustrating as I was asked by the dealer to pay the entire amount upfront when the car was in Transit, but I wasn't to keen to do that.

Then the GM Sales called me and said, that they are looking to use my money and are looking to book as many vehicles as possible. This honest explanation sold it for me. I promptly asked him to share the VIN number, which he did and I made 50% payment the same day, and another 50% 3 days before delivery after seeing the car.

I had a clear understanding with the dealer that I will not take the car if I find anything wrong with it whether I have paid in full or not. It is not an ideal situation, but sadly it is being practiced.

I am having serious issues with Android Auto, I use a OP5, which I use with my other cars as well and works fine. However, after the initial few days it has just stopped working as within 2 seconds of launch my phone automatically comes out of Android Auto. I have tried everything, changing the cable, re-installing the app, re-establishing the connection multiple times. But nothing seems to be working.

Does anyone here has any solution or has experienced something similar ?

Android Auto on Oneplus works only with the original cable supplied with the phone.

The dealers are using the initial hype around a good car to make some money. This problem will be sorted out once the initial backlog is cleared. Then the customers will be treated better.

This should not be a worry. Our current car has lot to do with the first impressions we get on 15-20 min test drives we take. You will get used to it.
In my case it was the opposite. Graduating from Punto, was impressed by gear shifts action, it's throw and the clutch travel, though clutch is marginally hard than the one on Punto.

I am 5.5" and was able to find perfect seating position in a couple of tries.
I usually keep my seat and steering tilt adjustment at the lowest position, did the same here and was all good thereon. No issue of bonnet visibility, edges are visible from the lowest seating position.
BTW I am not very keen on bonnet visibility thing, follow simple rule 'bonnet is just behind the last point of visible road ahead'.

Date of registration has very little to do with resale value, if that is what you are aiming for. A January allotted car will most likely be manufactured in December and the date of manufacture is what is looked at by buyers/ second hand dealers when the time comes to sell the car - they will consider it to be a 2019 December car rather than a 2020 Jan car and quote prices accordingly.

Of course, if it is actually a January 2020 manufactured car, then this issue is not relevant.

Pardon my ignorance but I seem to be unable to find which one you opted for in previous posts.

So you drove a Punto petrol/diesel? And Seltos petrol/diesel? If both diesel, I'm a bit taken aback that the Seltos' clutch is heavier. I drove 3 diesel Puntos of various ages (1 day, 2 years & 5 years) and all of them tended to have clutches more in line with an "Ashok Leyland" badge than FIAT.

Ignore the post if petrol without hesitating...I have no benchmark.
