Ha ha. Days are not far when feature list will include things like 'all 4 tyres', 'turnable steering', 'blinking indicators'.

Would this be the cheapest diesel automatic? I'm excluding AMTs.

So this means that the CVT will again miss out on some of the top end features the same way the Jazz does!

Those front seats definitely look like that from a higher segment.
As they say "Class top" in google translation

Well, with a car that has carry-over engines, not many segment-first features or many class-leading (Class top ) USPs, what else can the team making the marketing presentation do?

Interior Package: Dynamic Comfort Sedan Package
Exterior Design Concept: Amazing Compact Limousine (Repeats long & sleek cabin, strong & dynamic lower body in image and then in the description again)
Diesel engine slide - High performance & Efficiency with Noise reduction technology
Inside the slide - Main applied technology - Fuel consumption technology
Gasoline engine slide High performance & Fuel efficieny
Main applied technology - Combustion technology (whatever that means)
Collision safety slide - Safety for everyone by Honda original standard

Reminds me of the days when I would use elaborate sentences to keep describing the same things again and again, to fill up the pages to somehow get grace marks in the exams

What is the problem with Honda not launching the top variant with CVT ? They can just provide that option and let the buyers decide. Disappointed !!

re: Honda Amaze @ Auto Expo 2018. Now launched at Rs 5.60 lakhs

I hope they have atleast provided a joystick inside to adjust the ORVM's, something which is absent in my 2014 Amaze EX i-Dtec variant!
Only once the feature list is out would we know how stingy Honda has been. Haven't come across anything related to standard airbags as yet.

As far as I know, CVT gearboxes cannot handle lot of torque. That's the reason they have de-tuned it for the AT.

However, do note that the torque curve is much more linear on the diesel CVT, which should make it more driveable.

True.

But why is the mileage so less compared to the manual? Their petrol CVT offerings have FE very similar to the manual variants.

Somehow get a feeling this CVT isn't an ideal match for the diesel engine. Hopefully, the drive is much better than what the spec sheets reveal.

re: Honda Amaze @ Auto Expo 2018. Now launched at Rs 5.60 lakhs

Looking forward to the pricing details to be revealed soon.

If they price it at only a small premium over the existing model, the higher variants of the petrol Amaze (V MT, V CVT & VX MT) might overlap with the J variants of the Yaris, making it an interesting mini battle across segments. Though it's a segment lower than the Yaris, the Amaze packs in serious amounts of space in the interior, and is quite a looker. The iVTEC engine is also peppier owing to the lower weight.

Interesting times ahead for those on the lookout for a new sedan (compact or executive), especially in the petrol guise.

+1 to that.
From the photos, the space on the rear seat in the Yaaris looks a lot similar to the Verna (which is not saying a lot). In comparison, the Amaze photos seem to show a lot more space.
This may also be due to the rear ac vents which seem to be eating into a lot of space meant for the third passenger at the back.

It would be great if all the costs saved in employing copy-editors are passed on to customers in the form of low prices.
