Hmm.. I see that they put the name plate later.

I went on the 13th and the car had the HSUV plate on.

In metal, the car looks massive. Its wide and tall and has enough road presence that you will give way, the moment you see it in your rear view mirror.

The grille also looks really nice. And like I said earlier, to the naive, from a distance, it will look like a LandCruiser Prado.

Another thing I said earlier, the price advantage of 4-5 lakhs over the Fortuner won't benefit the HSUV. As the latter will make up for that in resale value.

To curb the fear of resale value, maybe Mahindra should get inspiration from e-tailers, who have recently started a minimum buyback price policy. That they will buy the phone back at the pre-decided X amount of rupees after X period.

Even better, they can also think of Indianising the Volvo like subscription service.

If the fear of resale value is gone, I think there will be many who will give a chance to the HSUV.

This button is the gear change switch (for use in manual mode) and similar to what is present in XUV automatic also.

Thanks to Mayur Shinde for sending this image in. Heartfelt gratitude for sharing it with other enthusiasts via this Team-BHP page!

Does anyone have info on when this is expected to be launched?

Mahindra has begun testing the XUV 700 luxury SUV in full earnest on Indian roads ahead of the vehicle’s launch during the festive season of this year.
Quote:

The G4 Rexton/XUV 700 is a large, 7-seat luxury SUV whose ample dimensions make it one of the largest in its segment. It’ll be a diesel-only model, using a 2.2-litre turbocharged engine that puts out 178 Bhp of peak power and 420 Nm of peak torque. Mahindra is likely to use a 7-speed automatic gearbox, borrowed from Mercedes Benz, as the standard transmission option on this SUV.

Front look much much better in this shot than the one that was kept on display.

But it will be released with a look similar to what we saw in the Exhibition Display. That is the Mahindra style Grill and the one on test on the road is the Ssangyong style grill. This will be released under the Mahindra brand with it's look.

Launch delayed to March 2019, allegedly.
