Just went through the cartrade as well, they have 88 listings, I found at least 15 redundant listing among the 88 while glancing through it.

Production version of Harrier caught testing.

Source : Rushlane Tweet.

@prakash_ajp : I suspect, the 7 seater will be slightly longer and the rear will be a bit boxy as compared to the 5 seater.

The profile looks smart. If this is the 5 seater and the 7 seater is going to be longer, I wonder it'll look awkward. Perhaps, it will be taller too?

Mahindra would be proud of a design with so many cuts, creases and lines all over the place.

Based on the Harrier's design (and with some input from the Range Rover Evoque), someone has come up with a render of what the Tata Sierra would look like, if done today. Must say, looks absolutely drool-worthy, albeit impractical! This comes days after the design head of Tata, Mr. Pratap Bose said he'd love to do a modern-day Sierra.

re: Tata H5X Concept @ Auto Expo 2018. Named Tata Harrier! EDIT: Launched @ Rs. 12.69 lakhs

Pieces of information are emerging and coming together to provide a consistent picture of Harrier in my view. The recent articles in Automotive portals seem very specific and appears like nuggets of leaked information is being put out by TATA.
  • What seems consistent is that Harrier will be placed TATA's priciest vehicle, positioned above Hexa, with ex-showroom prices probably starting at 14-15 lacs (Can still deliver the promised 16 lac on-road price in some states with very low road tax), positioned pretty much against the Jeep Compass and above Hyundai Creta.
  • Focus on creature comforts such as cooled glove box, cellphone holder etc.
  • Cooled glove box accessible by Rear passengers as well (probably like a mini fridge with top and rear openings) - expect there to be a lot of advertising around such features when the interior features are revealed.
  • Drive mode selector from Land Rover family - probably a dumb-ed down version, such modes such as Eco/Sport/Comfort etc? (Since most variants will not have 4WD)
  • AWD is top end versions, with proper terrain response dial (Rock/Mud/Snow modes?). However, it looks like this will be a mild off-road vehicle lacking features such as center differential locks, low range gearing etc. Probably will have electronic 4WD gear like hill start/hill descent, TCS, ESP etc, but not mechanical gear such as differential locking
  • Entry variants with steel wheels, but with basic safety kit like ABS/Front airbags
  • No sunroof even in the top variant, probably available as a dealer accessory fitting

I dont think this is even in the same league as Mahindra's design debacles with a needless hump at the back, paws for door handles and whiskers below the headlights and this by the way is for the best styled Mahindra ever - the XUV500. I still think Harrier is very contemporary. Infact I would go out on a limb and say that this one looks better than Hyundai Tuscon or even the Jeep.

Low range is not a mild off-roading feature. None of the soft-roaders will have it. Even Jeep Compass 4X4 doesn't have low-range and only the 'Trailhawk' will have it. If the Harrier does have low range (which I highly doubt), it will be in the 'highly capable' car league.
PS: I think I misread your post (missed 'lacking')

Would be more practical with Tesla X like rear doors!

My view on the Harrier's look: looks more like Nexon's DNA rather than Land Rover. Discovery is an amazing looking car, expected this one to look even better, but its almost like Tata didn't want to be better than its more expensive elder sibling . Just like how 200NS and Duke 200's looks turned out.

More on the HARRIER,

Tata H5X Concept @ Auto Expo 2018. Named Tata Harrier! EDIT: Launched @ Rs. 12.69 lakhs-1.jpg

Quote:
The Harrier doesn’t have a distinctly upright cabin. The cabin is a little low-slung, somewhat sporty and the floating roof effect is a cool touch. There’s also a lot of cladding at the base of the doors, while the exaggerated wheel arches – again an element of Impact Design 2.0 – adds visual mass to the SUV. Around the rear, slim petal-like tail-lights are linked by a blacked-out element. A spoiler atop the windscreen and neatly executed cladding and brushed-silver elements on the bumper complete the look

Striking Orange, seen by me only on 1 other full size SUV (not counting ecosport, captur, creta, Q3, et all) ...

Tata H5X Concept @ Auto Expo 2018. Named Tata Harrier! EDIT: Launched @ Rs. 12.69 lakhs-sumo-harrier.jpg

How the TATA stable has changed in 10 years!!

To me the bonnet looks a tad too long, and expect a large turning radius.

Alloy design is a bit lackluster as compared to the ones seen on the Hexa and Nexon

But, Overall turning out to be a stunner! Segment upheaval eminent

re: Tata H5X Concept @ Auto Expo 2018. Named Tata Harrier! EDIT: Launched @ Rs. 12.69 lakhs

Some info on the Harrier by a source who wishes to remain anonymous:

1) Service training of 3 days has been conducted.
2) Tata has used Jaguar-Land Rover tech, so everything needs special tools to open and fix.
3) Front suspensions are a direct lift from the Discovery whereas rear ones are modified a bit.
4) No chambers on suspensions for adjustment during wheel alignment.
5) Tech loaded, possibly having all features one can think of.
6) In-cabin comfort and space is in abundance.
7) Petrol and 4WD will launch later on. Only Diesel and FWD is ready for now.
8) Will come with 2 firewalls for better NVH.
9) Top variants will come with 17” wheels whereas lower variants will come with 16”. Mostly to come with Goodyear tyres.
10) TML has ditched Harman for Head Units and has chosen Visteon as the supplier for Head Units.
11) Service Interval is like any other Tata - 6 months or 7,500 km for Inspection, and 12 months or 15,000 km for major services. Though a few things are yet to be decided on.
12) Comes with 3 modes : Normal, Wet and Rough.

Is there any chance if the anonymous source could tell us if we could dare hope to see the 7 seater anytime soon? Last I heard someone convinced me that its not even started testing. Dare I hope?
