Minor correction. Jeep Compass starting price is 16.6 Lakhs ex-showroom Delhi for base variant. Lower priced variant is Petrol not diesel.

It is only a manufacturing JV under the name FIAL. FCA India is a wholly owned subsidiary of FCA. So the 2.0 multijet is not Tata's engine. They are buying the engine from FCA.

True, but the engine is manufactured at their JV plant where Tata is 50% partner, so I think to that extent Tata must be benefiting.

The Tata Harrier commercial is being shot now as we speak in Business Bay- Dubai. Cops have closed the bridge on Happiness Street for the crew to shoot, which surprisingly is being allowed on a weekend.

An interesting bit of news for everyone that has booked Harrier.
Wanted to add a scale model of Harrier to my collection, so messaged Tata motors on Instagram to inquire about the availability.

It seems Tata will be giving a scale model along with the car on delivery.
Wow, that's a thumbs-up from my side.
Hopefully, their AT deliveries start soon.

Based on the info I've received the current production of the Harrier is about 50units/Day.

That's just about 1500 units per month and appears to be on the cautious side. Certainly achievable but I don't think Tata will be content with that. They will/should Target at least 2000 harriers per month IMO.

I guess this is at one shift a day. Initial production will always be slower, helping them sort out any glitches during line production. They can ramp it up based on requirements.

However if you try to move door handle up or down with a force then it moves to a very very small extent and hence give a feel of misaligned lines. I think this happens with any other car. While passing the TATA dealership today, saw the Harrier standing there. Stopped and checked out the car.

1. Looks much better in flesh than the pictures.
2. Doors closed in one attempt and and did not need any extra force.
3. Interior plastic quality is good, no way can you can call it cheap.
4. It was nice to be able to see the bonnet.
5. Space is massive, boot space is great too.
