Same boat as yours, planning to put in the deposit. But I have work related travel coming up in a few weeks and I'll be gone for 6 months.
I am keen on the diesel auto and I hope it's made available at the launch. Exciting times!

Are those exhausts dummies ala Merc's or the real deal?
The DRL's look decently bright and placed that high should help in visibility too but not sure how the headlights placed so low down will help.
Guess, a few days more before all our doubts and questions will answered.

Most likely dummies since they were not uncovered during the previous mules. I have not seen any indicators though. Has anybody?

Each time I look at the Harrier I keep thinking if I made a wrong decision by buying the Creta 6 months ago! If they price a decently equipped Diesel Harrier anywhere close to 15-17 Lakhs I would be gutted since I paid 15 for the Creta 1.6 SX just 6-7 months ago!

But what a fantastic product we are seeing here! Great pedigree, looks imposing, one powerful engine and you can trust Tata to deliver the quality levels they have done with the Hexa for sure. This product could be the turning point for the image and credibility that Tata deserves. I wish they succeed big time!

That's an SUV anyway. That headlight level is at level of a general C segment sedan headlight level. I think there should be some law in future for limiting heights of lights. I was yesterday traveling in a M800 and an oncoming endeavor with low beam were totally blinding us. Harrier headlamp position is still a good one.

The tail lamp section is on lines of evolution of Nexon design styles. The led strip for stop lamp is in underscoring fashion and a small rhombus like portion over it is the indicator. Zoom in closely on the last picture, the tail lamp section.

I guess so too, they seem to be faux exhausts and the actual one may be hidden behind.

My guess (and wish) is that the front DRLs may double up as the indicator as well. That way the visibility of the indicator would also not be an issue for those coming from the opposite side.

@Tushky, They may come up with that setup as one of the customizable options that we have been hearing of.

Cheers,
Uday

SCOOP! Tata Harrier on-road prices to range from Rs 16-21 lakh

Quote:
In breaking news, we’ve just got our hands on the hotly awaited SUV’s indicative pricing information too. The Harrier will carry an on-road price in the range of Rs 16-21 lakh. Adjusting for insurance, registration and other charges, this gives the Tata Harrier an estimated ex-showroom price range of Rs 13.5-18 lakh.

The Harrier will come powered by a Fiat-sourced 140hp, 2.0-litre diesel engine with the option of a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission to channel power to the wheels.

Will be positioned between Hyundai Creta & Jeep Compass.

On-road prices for the Creta 1.6 diesel start at Rs 16.36 lakh and top off at Rs 18.50 lakh.

In comparison, the diesel Jeep Compass outdoes the upcoming Harrier in terms of power, with 173hp from the same 2.0-litre diesel engine. However, the Compass diesel is only available with a 6-speed manual gearbox for the moment. It’s also considerably pricier, with prices ranging from Rs 19.70-27.24 lakh, on-road

The price and power figures will put the Tata squarely in the gap that exists between the Hyundai Creta 1.6 diesel on one end of the scale, and the Jeep Compass diesel on the other.

Tata H5X Concept @ Auto Expo 2018. EDIT: Named Tata Harrier!

Autocar India just tweeted this link describing leaked pricing of the Harrier.

https://www.autocarindia.com/car-new...21-lakh-410081

While the article says leaked pricing, no mention of the source or variant line up. I think this has been fed by Tata motors to gauge the market response to the price that is leaked. If the response is great then I expect the final price to be in this range.

As already reported, Tata Motors will open bookings for the Harrier on October 15, 2018. In breaking news, we’ve just got our hands on the hotly awaited SUV’s indicative pricing information too. Adjusting for insurance, registration and other charges, this gives the Tata Harrier an estimated ex-showroom price range of Rs 13.5-18 lakh. While the document doesn’t mention final trim levels, it is worth seeing the Harrier’s indicative prices and specs in light of its chief rival, the Hyundai Creta, and even the Jeep Compass.

That's almost what I feel could be the pricing and mostly right as well- can't be sure without seeing the versions and features if the final spec.

Slightly above Creta but below Hexa.

If this is the real pricing it seems too aggressive and even if the get some initial movement(which too I doubt) demand will decline like the Compass. My prediction of demand is between 1000-2000 cars in steady state.

There is a bit of disbelief as I had thought they mastered the art of pricing it right after the Aria debacle. The first reaction in the comment section at Autocar says it all.
