Tata cars since Indica days have been known to sport a warm, welcoming, ever cheerful smile at the front. Harrier changes all that. This looks properly menacing when looked head-on. With that tall bonnet, this is one car no one would like to see charging in rear view mirror. My guess is that Jeep Compass will look a size smaller beside Harrier. Amazing job on the road presence part!

Looks are subjective as we all have different tastes however what is most impressive about the Harrier is the fact that it has a macho stance with excellent proportions.

When we look at a vehicle, a particular exterior feature not favored by someone may be eyeballs to another but what always makes the biggest difference is the way front, rear and side profiles blend in to a homogeneous silhouette.

Kudos to Tata, an Indian Manufacturer for coming up with a product which can aesthetically take the game to global products. What i like about the design the most is that it is neither minimalist nor over the top. It hits that sweet spot between flashy and understated. Credit to Tata for having the courage to keep most of what we saw in the concept in to the final product.

Tata has consistently brought the smiling face in its design right from Indica to Nexon and now to Harrier. But the smile has changed greatly with time. From Tiago the smile was more like a proper matured one and Nexon carried it well too. But Harrier is definitely a notch above. That smile has now become a wicked grin given by a predator when looking its prey. Ohhh my wet dreams come true in designs . Love that wicked grin of Harrier.

In second picture,the side profile up till the rear door resembles like XU500 , which make harrier look a bit older. May be in flesh it looks modern !

The design looks nice. The wiper and the washer jet is neatly placed and the front looks clean. I am bit confused about the headlights though. From the roll out video, it looks like the low beam is a xenon/LED and the high beam is an conventional halogen. To me the rear 3 quarters look the best.

But boy, those wing mirrors are huge! Reminds me of those from Evoque (may be a straight lift from it too!). I would be rather dissappointed if they give only drum brakes on the rear axle. Can't wait to see the interiors and a full review from TBHP.

The headlamp cluster looks very busy with the fog lamps, high beam halogens and low beam projectors. A blackened cluster or a darker glass like the new Audi Q8 would make it look more in sync.

Q8 pic for reference, notice the blackened portion in the red circle, there is a headlamp there.

Please pardon the crude circle over the headlamps in the picture. My photo editing skills are as good as my space shuttle flying skills, non-existent.

Tata Harrier does seem Busy, below Its Grill.

They should have followed its Concept design lines..
