Me too but I heard it's going to another 3 months wait.

re: The Honda CR-V, now launched at Rs 28.15 lakhs

I was speaking to the head of one of the Honda Showrooms in Bangalore South. He confirmed the CRV launch was on track and is planned for March 2019.

Apparently, Honda India had announced it would launch the latest gen CRV during this fiscal, which ends on MArch 31, 2019.

I had contacted one of the dealers in Pune to enquire about civic. I am told that CRV will be launched this Diwali as per official communication received from HMIL & Civic in January 2019.

Don't think this is accurate. March is too far, they have waited long enough and existing generation CRV kits are probably almost liquidated already.

This seems more like it. A Mumbai dealership owner also told me by Diwali the CRV would be on sale.

Honda has an uncanny way of showing its Indian customers the middle finger whenever it gets a chance regarding model line-up. They're so consistent about it regardless of two or four wheeler. It has me stumped since the time they set foot here. Their idea of market research just gets to my nerves sometimes.

Maybe the long short of it is they can't get their valuations right and value their products too high to be able to match viable local market price levels.

The Civic, CRV, HRV, not here yet, I bet they aren't even considering having the Pilot.

In two wheelers they were well behind time in releasing the CBR300r at least, they did a Honda again and dished up the old boy 250r again with new stripes. The Tvs RR310 would have been in the dust if 300r had made an entry. They have a parallel twin CBR400 in some markets too and also a CBR500r(which is just the right underpowered for "Indian" market as per Honda standards) but apparently we're not worthy of that too. The 650f skipped on the power bump-up, if I'm not mistaken. The list goes on. I mean, even Pakistan is not so rude man! And they are the national enemy!

Sorry, I'm venting. But I guess we don't have a choice. The products which we do end up getting are too good, mostly. For example, personally, I'd buy an old i-vtec any day instead of a new Swift desire and be much more happy, have loads of accessories and save money too. That's how much I like Honda.

Ok so I am no longer interested in this, the diesel CRV will come in 120HP disguise only.
https://www.autocarindia.com/car-new..._medium=Social .

After paying 35lacs all you get is 120HP 1.6L motor! No matter how good drivability it will have, I simply can't digest the fact that its just 120HP under the hood!

While I was hoping for the 160 bhp engine to make its way here, the 120 bhp doesn't seem bad either. The claimed 11.2 s 0-100 time means it is faster than the Fortuner (12s) and at par with the 200 bhp Endeavour.

Fortuner and Endeavour both have ladder frame chassis and a weight of above 2 tons.

CRV is still a monocoque softroader, and the ideal competition would be from Skoda Kodiaq IMO.

I am hoping for good drivabililty from the 9 speed gear box. If the engine is tuned for efficiency, then the car will do better in our "Kitna Deti Hai" obsessed country.

P. S. Honda, at least keep the pricing reasonable.

+ New Hyundai Santa Fe : considering Honda is all set to launch the new-gen CR-V, Hyundai might consider bringing it to India in 2019 with new 2.2 Liter turbocharged diesel engine which offer 200 bhp output.

Honda claims that the CRV is one of the safest cars built on a strong chassis offering high levels of safety and enhanced handling.

In terms of pricing, expect the Honda CR-V to cost around Rs 28 lakh. The SUV will go up against the likes of the Skoda Kodiaq and Toyota Fortuner.
