Lamborghini may invest in e-vehicle unit in state: Min

Mumbai: Italian carmaker Lamborghini is considering investment in the state, industries minister Subash Desai on Thursday said ahead of the ‘Magnetic Maharashtra’ investor summit in Mumbai. Lamborghini chairman Tonino Lamborghini will attend the three-day summit that begins in Mumbai on Sunday.

Company denies the rumour:

Statement by Sharad Agarwal, Head of Lamborghini India.

“Automobili Lamborghini SpA is not looking to set up a manufacturing base in Maharashtra.

In order to avoid any risk of association or confusion, we would like to clarify that Automobili Lamborghini Group and Tonino Lamborghini Group are two different entities and each of them is managing its activity in autonomy, within its own business interests, notwithstanding the fact that there is a partial co-existence of the name Lamborghini and the bull in the shield logo. The use of each trademarks are regulated in an agreement dated 1993".

Tonino Lamborghini is into designing watches and personal accessories. He did try something with cars, years back. I haven’t heard anything about his foray into cars recently. Maybe he do nuture dreams of emulating his legendary father!
