6.25% diminishing looks good! dim means monthly reducing balance, right (EMI per lac for 5 years = 1945/-) ?
Do you have freedom to make pre-payments or pre-closure ? if so, what is the % of penalty? I am under impression that when banks offer good interest rates, payment options get more restrictions

I also used to think that home loans have low interest rates, personal/vehicle loans have higher rates.. but it seems I was wrong

exactly santosh 1945 per lakh, i took 4.5L finance so (4.5 * 1945 = 8752) if i want to close the loan before 6 months i will have to pay 2% as penalty after 6 months no penalties, i got it for 6.25% bcoz i have the salary account with HDFC.

it seems earlier they use to give at 5% diminishing for BALENO, recently maruti has imposed some restrictions on that, so if a layman walks in to a maruti showroom they start bargaining from 9.5% to 8%

Book the car during Dec 3rd / 4th week , get delivery during last week of December (in which case wait till Jan for regn) or get delivery during first week of Jan and register it then ..
I wonder if that works...
I also had the same thoughts and bought an Accent in 2002 Dec last week and got it registed in Jan 2003. When I sold it later, I realized that the registration does not matter. Everybody asked the 'make' year.

Now I have bought a Safari just coupel of days back. Registration will be in january. I am worried that I will face the same problem when I try to sell it later. Does anybody has better ideas on how to prevent this loss later?
