Planning to book i10

Advaith is giving discounts worth 26K (1st year insurance free, 5k cash discount, 4k corporate discount) in addition to standard freebies (mud flaps, floor mats, perfume, teflon coating) without even negotiating.

Will there be more discounts at year end?

That makes the S a good buy.

The BMW 730 ld is close to 88 lacs on-road here in Chennai.

A friend of mine is getting quite good (80k+) discount for optra magnum. Not sure if it is always there or just year end.

Is January the cheapest time to buy cars? '08 models can be had for a lot less right?

Yep but the new one is round the corner and that would cause the current s to depreciate even further and faster. the 10L saving is not worth it for the kind of people who choose a S.

@ACM,

what you say will probably hold true for personal cars. But if some operators are picking them it is a neat deal. The interest on the 10 Lakhs itself would probably cover part of the fuel expenses.

And resale price should not drop as much as the discount given.

It does. I have often gotten lured by these discounts and landed up coming quits. Seldom do you gain on resale.

Year end discounts for Scorpio SLE

Guys...

I am getting mixed reviews in the market about year discounts for Scorpio in december. Some used car delears are saying that I should be getting at least 50k - 70k discounts. Show room guys (as expected) are not too sure if one would get discounts at all.

Given the fact that its selling like hot cakes - do you guys expect better prices in december? Should I wait till december week 3 or 4 before I book the car?

Don't think you'll get 50-70k discounts on the Scorpio. I think they were giving the extended warranty free in Diwali. They might renew that offer again.

You might as well wait till december to see the offers.

@ AirWind - I am looking at the SLE variant which is 9.5 lacs OTR. VLX is for sure tempting with air bags now; but I don't personally value the other features which come for an incremental cost of 1.2 lacs

@ SDP thanks, appreciate your response. I guess its better to wait for a few more weeks. I am trying to sell my 2006 Baleno LXI too. I am not getting good offers as of now…
