Currently there is no discount on Verna (expect 10k loyalty bonus). Dealers say there will be price hike starting Jan'07. The resale value would get affected to a margin of 10-15k (wild estimate) due to '06 registration. Since dont know how much the price hike would be, it's confusing whether to purchase the car in Dec'06 and get it registered in Jan'07 (with the existing rate) or to purchase in Jan'07 (with fingers crossed on price hike)

Any suggestions

Any idea how much it would be? Dealer says the price hike would be somewhere around 30k range for VERNA. Hence confustion whether to get it purchased this year end itself. If at all there is an increase and if it is around 10k, preference would be 2007 jan. Your inputs please.

I checked with a couple of dealers in Bangalore and Kerala and they told the hike will be in the range 15 - 20K. Not sure of it, anyway !!

Baleno VXi at Rs. 5.5L OTR, and LXi at 4.90L OTR ??????????. Impossible... thats a steal. Ex-showroom price of VXi is Rs.6.65 lakhs and LXi is Rs.5.85 lakhs. That's a discount of Rs.1.50 lakhs minimum (incl Regn, Tax & Insurance). Are you sure it was not 6.5 lakhs and 5.90 lakhs respectively ?.

Nopes, it is 5.5L OTR for Baleno Vxi in Delhi. A colleague just bought one. He said he was able to drive the price real low, once the doomsday for current Baleno was announced.

Looks like the year end discounts and promotions scheme have worked wonders for the Aveo and Optra. Pune streets to what I have seen are flooded with new Aveos and Optra LS'.
