- the Li-ion battery supplies energy to engine electric parts like instrument cluster and music system

- rear seat adjustable headrests on the Alpha grade

- 16-inch alloy wheels are provided only in the top-end Alpha

- the current DDiS is likely to be offered with the new engine phasing in later

Sorry, What's the advantage of dual batteries? Is there any other car on our road which comes with the same?

It's simply Maruti properly implementing the SHVS system. From my understanding it's the second battery that supposedly helps with the advantages of hybrid system

For some reason, the SHVS launched till now didn't get it.

The difference in the implementation of the system can be compared in their diesel model of the previous version vs the facelifted one.

Here is an explanation : In summary the Li-ion battery would last longer.

Some more points apart from those mentioned:
1. Instrument cluster is similar to the one of Baleno - i.e. a multifunction unit. However not known if this will be give on the diesel variant.
2. Only the Petrol AT has ESC and hill assist.
3. Seat belt reminder will now be available for the front passenger apart from the driver.
4. Now Delta will also get 15-inch alloys, apart from Zeta and top model's 16-inch ones.
5. Alpha and Zeta both get LED headlights, LED fog lamps and LED DRLs.

Now we hear that the 1.5L engine of the Ciaz will be used to power the next-gen Toyota Corolla.

Suzuki is definitely the king of Naturally aspirated petrol engines.

re: The Maruti Ciaz Facelift. EDIT: Now launched at ₹ 8.19 lakhs

So by going the Li-Ion battery as the secondary energy storage, is suzuki hinting at future 48 V mild-hybrid (ala Audi/next gen 3 BMW/Merc) system? If yes, then it is a welcome move. The starter-generator equipped 48V (along with electrical turbos) are a wonderful system.

But, the nightmare is the DIY possibility. One can get himself/herself electrocuted by being careless and needs to wear protective clothing too. The wires carrying 48 V will be marked in bright orange (for sure) but still need to be careful.

Nevertheless, the cars these days are becoming very less DIY friendly. So as long as the reliability is there, who cares!

Why is it still using the old headlight assembly? Though I believe this is the mid variant without LED lights, the headlights in the facelift looked slimmer.

This looks like the Delta as it has normal halogens of new design. So if Ciaz will be offered with LED headlights in Alpha and Zeta, will this also be done in S-Cross? I'm really confused regarding our S-Cross purchase.

Hi all.
Just seeking a clarification.
The 1.5 l engine- is it a detuned version of the of the famed s cross ddis 1.6 320 or an upgraded ddis 1.2. And any ideas about the power output.
Because I read that the ciaz is due for the ddis 320 and if it is so then it might become the benchmark in its segment.

The 1.5 petrol is a new one. The ddis is the same as in the old Ciaz. The inhouse 1.5 l diesel is still under development. It is not a detuned 1.6 fiat but rather 2 celerio 800 cc blocks put together

re: The Maruti Ciaz Facelift. EDIT: Now launched at ₹ 8.19 lakhs

Somehow I am not all that enthused by new model/ facelift launches from Maruti nowadays. Two main reasons for this.

1. Labour costs at ASC's are hitting the roof. ~7k for a general service of a WagonR is plain daylight robbery.
2. Safety - Among the crappiest one can find out there. Today even Tata is able to give a much safer car with 4 star rating.
