re: The Maruti Ciaz Facelift. EDIT: Now launched at ₹ 8.19 lakhs

With our roads only getting more congested , AT is no longer optional
6 speed AT might also come on Ertiga, considering both share lot of commonalities.

Also looks like there is no mention of CVT, so interesting how Maruti can manage "kitna deti hai" along with the regular torque converters

Maruti is expert in this I guess they play with the gear ratios, current gen Ertiga auto has marginally lower ARAI [17.05 compared to 17.5, from carwale ] than manual Petrol.

Though I can't say about jerks and pick-up in 4 speed auto box!

4 speed auto box is not bad. I haven't heard anyone complaining. However it just does the job in a plain way. Good for city runabouts . 6 AT might offer better highway performance and make it compete with the rest

Close up for the steering suggests the car will have cruise control (like on the s-cross). Apart from that, the interiors appear largely similar to the existing model (was hoping for the flat bottom steering from the swift). Also, this seems like the ZXI (or rather the Zeta) variant, going by head unit.

re: The Maruti Ciaz Facelift. EDIT: Now launched at ₹ 8.19 lakhs

I hope the Ciaz facelift comes with the steering from the new Swift. With Ciaz now a part of the so-called premium offerings of Nexa, it is high time for Maruti to offer new controls/buttons for the power windows. While at it, please make them back lit. I've noticed none of the sedans namely in the City/Ciaz/Verna/Yaris segment come with it. However, the Nexon does. Speaks a lot of penny pinching that the Indian manufacturers resort to.

I also hope that the facelifted Ciaz has the color MID and dials from the Baleno, they're super cool!

It shows a 5 speed transmission too. Why no 6 speed?

Interesting, the car does not feature a touch screen unit (May not be Alpha) yet it offers cruise control and i can see sun-roof in the first pic.
What else could they be offering on Alpha ? 6 airbags ?

Good observation, had to really enlarge the image to check this. It sure looks like R where the 6th cog would be. Does Maruti/Suzuki even have a 6th gear in their arsenal. I know the 1.6 MJD of S-Cross had one but I am hazy if that was Suzuki's or Fiat's.

Yes, does not seem Alfa, but glad to see convenience features filters down to the lower trims. However, I am not sure what you see on top is a sunroof. It's far too narrow to be one.

re: The Maruti Ciaz Facelift. EDIT: Now launched at ₹ 8.19 lakhs

Maruti Suzuki revs a big engine, a 1.5-L petrol hybrid, for Aug launch

CIAZ will be the first recipient of this engine.

Quote:
the same hybrid engine from MSIL will be fitted into Toyota’s Corolla Altis in the future
Quote:
But the new Corolla Altis hybrid version will come out only around 2020
Quote:
The engines will be fitted into other products such as the Baleno, Vitara Brezza and even the Eritga at a later date.
Quote:
It will launch a diesel version of the 1.5-L engine next year.

Neither Suzuki not Fiat, the GB basically is from Vauxhall. SCross is basically a car designed by Fiat (Italian), made by Suzuki (Japanese) which has a Fiat engine (Italian) coupled to a Vauxhall (British) gear box (for the 1.6).

I am not sure where you got that information from but S Cross is 100% not a Fiat design. The SX4 was a Fiat Suzuki joint design venture with the Fiat being called Cedici.

Is there any information about it being mated to an automatic gearbox ?

I think this might be a diesel car with the same 1.3 engine. The 6 speed might be available on the petrol car with the new 1.5 engine. But then, not sure why there's so much road testing for the old engine.

re: The Maruti Ciaz Facelift. EDIT: Now launched at ₹ 8.19 lakhs

If the Ciaz kept rolling with the same 1.3 DDIs and 5 speed, its days are numbered, now even cars like the Nexon etc have bigger hearts and more gears, not to mention Ciaz's direct competitor Verna which has a much more bigger, more powerful engine with more gears.

Maruti can't keep milking the same product with its brand name, over time it will deteriorate.
