Spotted this morning at NICE road, Bangalore. I believe this is the same MG SUV reported on this thread. In case this belongs to any other thread, mods can move it accordingly.

Looks good to my eye, if they price it right it could do well. That 2.0 Fiat motor is is great so they should have no problems with that. Fiat handing it out though is another story altogether.

MG SUV to get two BS-VI compliant engine options

According to a media report, MG's first SUV in India will be offered with two engine options, both of which will be BS-VI ready.



MG is planning to launch a B-segment SUV in the first half of 2019. It will be based on the Baojun 530 and will be offered with a BS-VI ready 1.5-litre, turbocharged petrol engine and a Fiat-sourced 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder diesel unit.

The SUV will measure 4,655 mm in length, 1,835 mm in width and will have a height of 1,760 mm. It will have seating for 5 people. Reports suggest that the MG SUV will come equipped with features like a floating infotainment screen, panoramic sunroof, cruise control, electronic parking brake and powered seats with leather upholstery.

The carmaker has also confirmed that it plans to launch an electric SUV within one year of its first car launch.

I like how it looks, rumors are that it will be launched in Q2 of 2019. Another 6 months or less to go, but I dont see any teasers or anything anywhere. by the way is this is 7 seater?

Saw 6 of these parked on Vadodra-Halol with parking lights on. The indicators are Audi like sweeping LED. 2 of them had their hoods open.

A little OT but one thing to observe and appreciate Fiat is for the demand they’ve created for their engine line ups! Shows they’ve pioneered in making good Diesel engines which has proved to be the best in the business:

1) Fiat 1.3MJD (Borrowed by Tata, Maruti, Chevy)
2) Fiat 1.6MJD (Enthusiasts engine - borrowed solely by Maruti)
3) Fiat 2.0MJD (Borrowed by Tata, MG & is Maruti planning too?)

Even if Fiat loses out on sales of their own cars, they’ll still be making engines for other manufacturers

MG model doesn’t seem so impressive when put against handsome looking cars like Harrier, Creta. Let’s see how MG caters to Indian consumers

From the rear, the Baojun 530 immediately reminds me of the Audi Q5 / Q7 SUVs - especially in the way the tailgate carries the tail-lamps when they would open! Strikingly similar, but because of the Chinese origins, one cannot completely absolve them of copying
