re: The next-generation 2020 Honda Jazz

If a person is looking to buy Jazz V/VX CVT, what are the other options?

Is it better to go for new Amaze V CVT (value for money) and save some money, or extend the budget and go for Toyota Yaris J CVT (bigger engine and 7 airbags)?

Rumour: Honda will not bring the next-gen Jazz to India

One thing I really can not understand why do they still give reflector with halogen on a premium offering!

I am a big fan of nice and bright headlights. Now, if I buy this VX AT, again I will have to go with LED bulbs and deal with a setup without dust caps.

Just see it for yourself, the Amaze is clearly a notch below the Jazz in various departments - build, fit and finish, ergonomics etc.

I'd go with the Jazz VX CVT over any other car in that segment.

Te dealership we checked with did not have any CVTs left. I presume the stocks will be low going by the sales charts, which basically show numbers dispatched from the plant.

The new Fit measures 4.09956 meters, and Honda probably found it difficult to shrink it to under 4.0 to benefit from lower duties. I can't imagine any other reason for not bringing in the new version.

Right, but taking away the rear adjustable headrests, spoiler which rounded the looks and the magic seats is a bummer.

Atleast, they should have continued with Magic seats, Grey and black interior scheme and Roof Spoiler in VX. New features are welcome addition, but still more needs to be done to make this no brainer choice for masses.
True, let's wait and see how the pricing comes up for refreshed version.

May well be the case - I would stick out my neck and say that Honda has very little margin on the Jazz. Also, hatchback versions of cars which have Sedans (City) normally have better margins on the sedan than the hatchback.

Its a decent car now.. looks neutral, absolutely spacious, fuel efficient, reliable and good glass area. I'd pick this any day over the Baleno. Only wish Honda moved away from their quirky dashboard layouts and made a more conservative, omnibalanced and more European interior, their sales might treble if so. The Jazz is the true family car.
Concur with you - even with the deletion of features, Jazz is still a good car.

Maybe you can try Aliexpress for replacement domed caps. Please see my thread here: http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/diy-do...ml#post4409206

Don't know still what the price difference shall be between the V CVT and VX CVT, but if it is big, I doubt many people would go for the VX as it has only Digipad 2 + leather (steering/gear knob) over V.

Terrific pricing by Honda!

V CVT gets cruise control at the same price as before.

VX CVT gets navigation with Android Auto and Apple Car Play, push button start, LED wing lights, electric folding ORVM with turn indicators, leather wrapped steering with voice control and an IR remote, all for 50,000 bucks more!!

Exactly, in addition to this, V CVT also comes with Start-Stop, Keyless, Speed Sensing doorlocks, Rear parking sensors, driver armrest(Honda genuine acc. was priced at 16K ).

Existing V CVT owners will be feeling robbed.

Diesel MT gets Cruise Control and Start-Stop but Petrol does not, same strategy as W-RV.

re: The next-generation 2020 Honda Jazz

The Honda City is based on the Jazz/Fit sold internationally. Honda has plans to bring the next gen city in 2020 . That seems the only possible reason for them not to bring the next gen Jazz to India as of now. The facelift is only to make Jazz survive for few more years IMHO.

re: The next-generation 2020 Honda Jazz

I've been wondering why Honda doesnt offer 2 of it's USP's over competition across models -

1. i-Vtec 1.5 engine
2. Magic seats

I don't subscribe to the honda bashers theory that Honda management is filled with dumbos, because all their car launches have been thoughtful - they have no compromised active safety, ride & reliability models.

Is it the super volatile and often downright silly car, tax and fuel norms in India, that's keeping them from offering better cars?

re: The next-generation 2020 Honda Jazz

Next Gen. 2020 Jazz/Fit spied testing in Europe, to get a crossover styling.

Quote:
The redesigned model has a more expressive front fascia with larger headlights that feature three dimensional elements. They reside on either side of a new two-bar grille. Further below, the Fit has a large air intake which now extends to the outer edges of the front bumper.

Moving further back, a slender A-pillars and larger front quarter windows. The Fit also has curvier bodywork and an evolutionary rear end with new taillights.
Quote:
Glimpse of the interior and they reveal the model will have a new steering wheel, a recessed instrument cluster and a more modern infotainment system with a metallic frame. We can also see three large knobs which are likely for the climate control system.

Honda has been tight-lipped about the Fit, but reports have suggested the model will be offered with conventional, hybrid and electric powertrains. Spy photographers believe both these prototypes were the hybrid variant which is rumored to share its powertrain with the Insight.

re: The next-generation 2020 Honda Jazz

Honda might see good numbers again, if they offer Diesel CVT combo on the Jazz, I didn't want to go for the Amaze due the quality issues, but Jazz would easily change my mind! Currently it doesn't have any USP in that price band.

re: The next-generation 2020 Honda Jazz

Next gen Jazz may feature a hybrid drivetrain, and may be launched by 2020 in India.

Quote:
New Honda Jazz to be unveiled at 2019 Tokyo Motor Show in October.

Will debut Honda’s dual-motor hybrid powertrain for smaller cars.

New hybrid system is more compact than the one on offer in the Accord.

Expected to be launched in India in 2020.

re: The next-generation 2020 Honda Jazz

The third generation Honda Jazz is expected to debut in the last quarter of 2019 as the 2020 model and will come to the Indian markets early next year.

The Third generation hatchback is expected to be built on a new platform which will also underpin the soon expected fifth generation Honda City. The new platform is in regard to a new mild hybrid drivetrain. Seems like the Honda Jazz will follow the footsteps of the Maruti Suzuki Baleno and will be all set to be unveiled before the BS VI emission norms kick in on April 1, 2020.
