Why is Honda going back to Brio/Mobilio face with the Jazz?

Forget Amaze, even the current Jazz looks more in line with Honda's new design language than this one.

This new look is closer to first gen than current gen Jazz. I think this will liberate even more space inside. Hope this gets diesel CVT if it comes to India.

I know I'll be hated for this comment mostly. But this rendering / test mule looks like the result of a serious expressway pile-up involving a Merc B Class previous generation, Chevy Spark, Jazz gen 1, Nissan Micra previous gen!

Looking at these pictures, I really wish the heading of this thread comes true. The current one looks far better than this IMHO.

I dont see a future for the new Jazz in India. Honda must rather focus on bringing a new WR-V with a proper sub-4m package to rival the Venue and others.

But why not have a competent Jazz to take on i20 & Baleno? If Hyundai can sell i20 & Venue, I see no reason why Honda cannot sell the Jazz and WRV.

The new Honda Jazz gets hybrid drive and a rugged look to boost its appeal - to take on CUV's.

Will shed its MPV stance and don the SUV look. Will roll outs its advanced hybrid technology that the company is beginning to roll out and will be revealed in October.

While previous versions of the Jazz have sported an upright MPV-like appearance, the next-generation car will have mini SUVs like the SEAT Arona and Citroen C3 Aircross in its sights. This will help to broaden its appeal, courtesy of a chunky SUV-inspired design.

Despite its chunky-looking dimensions, the Jazz will measure around four metres long – much the same as more conventional superminis – so it won’t grow significantly in size over the outgoing model.

However, beneath the skin the new Jazz is expected to sit on an all-new platform, which will bring greater gains in practicality and also allow Honda to squeeze in the advanced hybrid technology that the company is beginning to roll out.

Seems like Honda will market the new Jazz in India as WR-V from the beginning itself as overall the WR-V moniker has proved to be more successful for the Japanese manufacture. The car already looks quite SUVish hence I don't think they will butch it up much and it seems to be a good strategy. Now, expecting this vehicle to be offered in both AT Petrol & AT diesel, just hope they discontinue the 1.2 i-vtec and give it the much nicer 1.5 but I guess due to the lower pricing strategy we will see them carry over the 1.2 anyway.

this time is an image that was used for analysis during the pedestrian collision test conducted at Honda R & D Amerricas (HRA), a Honda R & D facility in the United States. From a certain image, you can see the side styling that seems to be Honda's new "Fit 4".

The wheel at the foot is equipped with a sporty single 5-spoke large-diameter aluminum wheel (16 inches?)

front headlight is a monocular LED projector type, but at the tip of the headlight you can see a little like a part of the LED daytime running light.

I read in August's Autocar magazine that Honda will discontinue the Jazz in 2020. I can't find a link online to confirm that, however. So it'll be the WR-V filling Jazz's shoes as well.

Next Gen Jazz/Fit variant list for the Japanese market,

The new "Fit 4" is scheduled to be deployed in all 5 grades as follows (all grade 2WD / 4WD lineup).

・ Basic: Entry grade
・ Home: Standard grade
・ Ness: Sporty grade
・ Luxe: Luxury and higher grade
・ Crosstar: Crossover grade

From the above, the first thing to consider as a premise is whether to use a 1.5L engine + dual motor "hybrid" or a 1.3L engine only "gasoline".

In all grades, the gasoline type will be regular gasoline, but in terms of fuel consumption, the hybrid model equipped with the newly developed SPORT HYBRID i-MMD is showing excellent fuel efficiency performance ( In addition, motor assist is strong and acceleration is smooth), and hybrids may be recommended for those who use cars for long distance driving and traveling.
