Agree. Somehow that beige- black plus white paint combo looks wannabe than classical. In fact they shouldnt have this car in white. Its too big to suit that colour.

Dissappointed that the carnival doesn't get the 360 camera and blind spot moniter for such a big car.

Also the screen is only 8 inches, not the 10 inch one from the seltos.

Here is the variant wise features list from autocar India video:

Was keenly looking forward to this car for the family, but am hugely disappointed with the 3rd row comfort. Renuka who is 5'3" was sitting with knees pointing the roof in the Autocar review. It's shame that a car > 5.1 meters in length lacks proper under thigh support for 3rd row passengers. Even the captain seats in the first and second rows appear narrow for a well built person. Being the longest and widest doesn't mean much.

Considering this was our daily drive in South Korea and had a mix of people with varying dimensions, we were all pretty comfortable in our respective seats. We were a total of 6 people and it was a 7 seater config one with high roof (option available in the domestic market).

Make no mistake, it is a pretty huge vehicle with a equally imposing road presence.

My thoughts on the 3rd row are the same too. The 3rd row makes a huge difference for a vehicle of this size and a person who is just 5'3" sitting with knees up is definitely disappointing. It would have been better if the seat height was more so adults can use it for long distance road trips.

This car will surely shake up the segment. Innova might feel the heat for a while until the segment settles down after the new entrant. It’s got tons of features and I’m sure we indian will welcome it with wide hands like we did with Seltos.

Kia seems to be on a roll and they’ve surely proven to have done their homework.

Same thoughts. I have a Hexa 6 seater and the only additions I see for the third row are sun blinds and a reclining seat back. Rest, the Tata has everything: AC vents, armrests, cup holders, reading lights, charging socket, adjustable headrests and the fantastic Hexa ride quality. I am 5 foot 9 and can easily sit for 5-6 hours in my Hexa’s third row. While I reserve final comments till after experiencing the Carnival in person, this most crucial for a family car third row doesn’t seem to be better than the Hexa going by Autocar review.

Why did they put the aircon controls for the back seat, just behind the driver seat? Logic dictates that, if you are chauffeur driven, you will be in the middle seat closest to the kerb. If you enter via the door closest to the kerb, you have to stretch to change the aircon controls.

9 seater in the Prestige version doesn't make sense. No one is going to feel prestigious travelling like a Tempo Traveller. Ideally, there should have been 7/8 seater variants in both Premium and Prestige.
I hope the ground clearance is good with all pax and luggage filled in.

I thought they showed her sitting in the 4th row in the 9 seater variant.Pause at 5.44.

re: Kia Grand Carnival MPV coming in 2020. Edit: Launched @ 24.95 lakhs

Apart from the various practical aspects, there is an air of aspirational value around Carnival. There is enough buzz on social media, vehicle has presence on road, looks good and that electric mechanism for operating the side door is surely going to be a party trick. Unless there is a real bad issue which can dampen the product post launch, Carnival will hit Innova if priced per speculation. However, if the top variant goes to 35lac and above ex showroom, there is enough money gap between Innova and Carnival. The question is how much fight does Carnival want to bring to Innova - barge in right inside the fort or challenge to coexist. The key is pricing here.

Innova has a huge following in our market but with Ertiga / XL6 as the cheaper alternative and Carnival as a slightly higher priced competitor to Toyota offering, Innova has a challenge at hand now. Though Toyota may be better, Kia and Maruti as manufacturers don't suffer from brand value perspective and after sales service support. The difference may be there but isn't a deal breaker unlike the perceived apprehensions around Tata as a brand.
