So in my opinion we should not compare/associate this product to Kwid as the title of this thread suggests. Per Renault Triber is a completely new product and is going to start a new segment itself.
There are so many generic statements in that document from Renault. Not something one expects in a product related document from a multi national car maker.
  • Bigger & wider than competition -- Who?
  • Lighter & offers fuel efficiency -- Everyone offers fuel efficiency. Its the number that matters!
  • Sturdy & Tough -- Thats such a casual remark! Really!

Renault better pull its socks together. This is a key product for it in India & such lame preparation for it will not help the cause.

And of course Renault has to say "its an all new platform" doesn't it? Otherwise people will come with a prejudice that its based on a Kwid that competes with the AltoK10 & is not going to be strong enough as a 7 seater. Renault is trying to create a different identity for the car. But well - people know its still based on the CMF-A. That can't be just erased.

re: Renault Triber, the Kwid-based MPV. EDIT : Launched at Rs. 4.95 lakhs

Saw one on the road today, surely doesn't look like an extended Kwid. Looks very mature and decent to say the least, first gen Ertigaish if that is the way to put it. This can do numbers if they put some effort into marketing.

Happened to me too. For some reasons they had taken down the video. Don't know why. Didn't had a chance to see it.

This was on display at Phoenix mall on the 3rd of August. Gathered a huge crowd around it and seemed to gather a lot of interest. At least from far away, it looked reasonably posh and didn't appear built to a price unlike say the Duster.

Don't worry, you guys haven't missed anything. It was a "prototype" review and all the positive bits were, well... positive and for all the not so positive bits it was "work in progress".

Something hashed up just to maintain the interest levels of the public.

re: Renault Triber, the Kwid-based MPV. EDIT : Launched at Rs. 4.95 lakhs

I fortunately saw it yesterday, as soon as I got the notification.
ACI seemed totally impressed with the vehicle and the space it offers in all three rows.
As like all previous Renaults this too handles and rides well.
Power is more that enough. (Depends on your definition of enough though)
Overall a potential big hit product in the offing.

Did they have a choice? They have been given an "exclusive" preview at Renault's plant and test track. That isn't arranged unless you agree to say good things in today's corporate world.

This is something you experienced? Or you are citing the same ACI review?

I'm a bit confused actually. You got a notification & saw the vehicle? Or you got a notification on YouTube & watched the video preview by ACI?

In the review there are subtle hints about shortcomings of the vehicles as well (like power being missing at low end and mid range being quite short etc.)

I wish this could have been true i.e. me getting early access to drive a brand new car well before the world gets.
But unfortunately I'm not the chosen one.
In previous post what I meant was, I got notification on YouTube app.

According to TimesNowNews (https://www.timesnownews.com/auto/ca...d-price/467665), the Media Drives of Renault Triber are already underway.

Renault Triber will be launched in India this month -- on 27 August, in all likelihood. The French carmaker had showcased the car about two months ago in June though it hadn't revealed when it would start retailing it here. However, the Triber's media drive is currently underway and Renault too has now confirmed that the Triber will be introduced in the market. It must be noted that with the launch about 15 days away, Renault Triber bookings in India should also begin soon officially.

Renault Triber will come borrow the Renault Kwid's 1.0-litre engine though in a different state of tune. Renault says this engine features a dual VVT system so as to deliver optimal acceleration and ensure it is able to achieve the "right balance between performance and economy with good fuel efficiency and low maintenance cost". The Triber's 1.0-litre petrol engine, which puts out a maximum power of 71 bhp and 96 Nm of peak torque, will be offered with a choice of two transmission options, namely, a five-speed manual and a five-speed AMT.

Finally, Renault Triber's price -- factoring in everything, we would say that the car will likely come bearing a price tag ranging between ₹5.5 lakh - ₹8 lakh.

re: Renault Triber, the Kwid-based MPV. EDIT : Launched at Rs. 4.95 lakhs

Below are couple of reviews showcasing the features of the pre-production vehicle. As per the reviewer there is an embargo on driving these cars till its officially launched.

The second video shows the engine being started and revved, noted some vibration during startup, typical of a 3 cylinder engine.
