But manufacturers rarely do such things so it's wishful thinking from my side.
Thank you for enlightening!

Being an owner of a Triber RXZ the news hurt me. After reading this, I contacted the customer service of Renault and they told me that one can upgrade to R15 at the same cost, which is Rs.4250. They told me to check with the dealer. I contacted the dealer and they asked me to wait until they check it and I will update if the entire process is complete.

If this is going to happen, Renault is definitely going to win some hearts here!
Thanks!

Re: Renault Triber, the Kwid-based MPV. EDIT : Launched at Rs. 4.95 lakhs

I am seeing a quite a lot of Tribers on the road. The car definitely has road presence and doesn't feel like built to cost.
With a bigger heart, it definitely will win more customers.

Could the diesel engine used in earlier Verito/Logan fit the Triber engine bay? Or even the 85Ps Duster engine for that matter.

Does anyone remember what was the rpm reading at 80 kph? If I am not wrong, it was close to 3000 rpm.

I don't think that it can accommodate those engines. The bay is compact and can take one more cylinder at Max. A 1.2 L petrol may fit. I'm still wondering how they can put in a turbocharger! I'm not sure about the size of a turbocharger if I'm wrong.

.

Yeah! It reads 80kmph just after it hits the 2500 rpm mark. At 3000rpm I can say that the car will be doing speeds close to 90 and around 110 at 4000rpm All data while moving alone from my experience. Load it and it varies! (Not very much though with 5 people)

Saw a brand new copper/bronze coloured one. Looks smart and unique - whoever is doing Renault's designing for IN cars sure knows his/her work with the success of the Triber and Kwid facelift!

In perspective, Renault has old sold Honda India in Oct 2019. It has so far sold, 11516 Tribers since launch. That's commendable performance and wish they follow it up with a turbo petrol and automatic as mentioned in the above report by ACI!

Re: Renault Triber, the Kwid-based MPV. EDIT : Launched at Rs. 4.95 lakhs

Renault is the actual automobile game changer in India nowadays.

i. They started the modern suv craze with Duster. Creta, S-croos and the likes followed.
ii. They launched the first micro suv - Kwid. S Presso follows its path.
iii. Now this sub-4m mpv Triber. There may be many who will follow this as well.

All of these succeeded, and looks has a major part in it. But they launched some worst looking cars as well - Logan, Lodgy, Scala.

They might have learned a lesson or two by this time.

Re: Renault Triber, the Kwid-based MPV. EDIT : Launched at Rs. 4.95 lakhs

Just spoke with the Renault in Chennai and they confirmed the new RXZ has a ~4000 INR price increase but comes with the bigger, wider tires. I have a RXZ booking open and actually had one allotted to me 4 weeks back but was delayed due to a scuffle around handling charges. Now, I'm glad it did!

Re: Renault Triber, the Kwid-based MPV. EDIT : Launched at Rs. 4.95 lakhs

Still no news on AMT or BS6 engines. It's already nov and they must start manufacturing BS6 by 1st december, else they may have some bs4 left unsold by 31st march 2020. Even the demo cars lying in show rooms need be sold before 31st march 2020.

I am eagerly waiting for AMT and not sure how long I will wait.

10,000th Renault Triber delivered

Renault has delivered the 10,000th Triber around 2 months following its launch.

Renault Triber, the Kwid-based MPV. EDIT : Launched at Rs. 4.95 lakhs-triber.jpg

The Triber was launched in August 2019 at prices starting at Rs. 4.95 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). It is based on the same platform as the Kwid but can seat up to 7 people.

The Triber is powered by a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine that produces 71 BHP @ 6,250 rpm and 96 Nm @ 3,500 rpm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.

In October 2019, Renault sold a total of 11,516 cars, registering a growth of 63% compared to the same period last year.

Re: 10,000th Renault Triber delivered

Heartiest congratulations to team Renault India. They have really produced a masterclass in packaging 7 seats which provide reasonable comfort to passengers in a 4 meter footprint. I think after the Kwid this is the only Renault which has been an out of the box effort by team Renault India. In one fell swoop they have taken chunks of sale away from compact sedan, compact SUV, and premium hatchbacks.

Now the only thing they need to do is bring the turbo version of the current anaemic petrol along with an auto box and see the sales soar even higher.

Re: 10,000th Renault Triber delivered

Great news. 10K+ Tribers on the road today!! I saw only one until now in Chennai and yet to see in person.

Nevertheless, kudos to Renault for churning out a winner and creating a new segment altogether. This is an example of commitment to the market and determination towards delivering a product.

Really feel for the fellows in the next cabin at RNTBCI (Renault Nissan Technology & Business Centre). They should get some learning from this.

It seems like Renault has finally understood the market well, and with the updated Kwid and the new Triber, It has the ability to capture a major chunk of the market.
We can finally say that Renault has a solid future for itself in the Indian Market.
Kudos to Renault India!
