A side view of Triber, looks on par with Brezza in terms of dimensions.

re: Renault Triber, the Kwid-based MPV. EDIT : Launched at Rs. 4.95 lakhs

“It’s a miracle of under 4 meters” says Group CEO Bollore.

Third row of seats can be removed to make Triber a 5 seater with class leading 625 litre of boot space.

re: Renault Triber, the Kwid-based MPV. EDIT : Launched at Rs. 4.95 lakhs

Attaching some pics which I received as a forward. Looks interesting for the most part, except for the raised stance on the rear. Will make a very nice 5 seater or a cramped 7 seater. Hope it offers a sliding mid row (sorely missed in the Lodgy) which would add practicality.

A 1.2 liter engine would be a bare necessity and an AMT box would definitely make this a winner if priced right. With the weedy 1.0 engine, this would be yet another dead duck in Renault showroom.

re: Renault Triber, the Kwid-based MPV. EDIT : Launched at Rs. 4.95 lakhs

2ns row is Sliding and Reclining. 3rd row is individually foldable and removable (I think I understood it right). With the Triber in, Datsun Go+ will not find any more takers, because it is so much better in looks, and function and features. The last row also has Arm Rest. I think I heard cooled glove box or cooled cup holders for everyone, not sure. Last row even gets a charging port. All digital instrument cluster looked nice.

No prices revealed in the presentation today. The stepped up roof like in the Tata Buzzard will give better headroom for the rear seat passengers. Good of Renault to give this feature.

Also, the engine is the renowned 1L unit from the international Clio. So, I guess much more powerful than the Kwid's unit. They say it has a good low end torque and good fuel economy.

re: Renault Triber, the Kwid-based MPV. EDIT : Launched at Rs. 4.95 lakhs

Just finished witnessing the webcast. Few points:
a) The headlamps somehow remind me of the VW Tiguan- especially when they are on
b) At first sight, the side view reminded me of the eco-sport- especially in that blue color
c) The stance looks a bit weird, may be because of the step-up roof
d) Good that the middle row is sliding capable
e) only 1.0-litre engine option? Not sure if it is turbo (highly unlikely). Could bog down with full load.
f) The equipment level seems generous with cooled cup holders (aka Ertiga), full LCD instrument cluster, and true key-less entry
g) No mention of the safety features, hope they are not ignoring this aspect

re: Renault Triber, the Kwid-based MPV. EDIT : Launched at Rs. 4.95 lakhs

625L luggage space with 5 seats up is more than >4m cars! Sliding second row should be available in other cars as well, such a logical fitment. Majority of the time when the boot is empty, the passengers can make use of increased leg room.

I don't think they can ignore that in today's times. A lot of things like ABS and Airbags have come within the minimum expectation of buyers and regulators as well !!

On a separate note, the Triber seems to be a functional car alright, but I don't find it beautiful from any angle.

re: Renault Triber, the Kwid-based MPV. EDIT : Launched at Rs. 4.95 lakhs

Currently, we are in the market to buy a budget MPV. Just today we booked an Ertiga VXI. Before booking Ertiga, I called the local Renault dealer to inquire for Triber. As per them, it is global launch and it's not coming to India anytime soon.

IMO, Triber is comparatively a good looking vehicle (of course I am comparing it with Datsun Go+). I don't have any high hopes from this vehicle's third row. Triber is going to be a death blow for Datsun Go+. However, people looking for a budget MPV would increase their budget and buy Ertiga.

With the third row removed, the Renault Triber has a large 625-litre boot.

Utility cars never were beautiful, isn't it? The Ertiga, Innova, Xylo, Tavera, Innova Crysta, none of them were particularly selling because they looked smoking hot. They sold because of the utility they provide, and as a sub-4m MUV with 7 seats, the Triber really is opening up a new segment (if you exclude the budget segment Go+)

Also, with those proportional wheels, the Triber does not looks all that bad, and especially it does not look cheap, and that is a step in the right direction. Just wish they offer a potent engine to go with the decent looks.

re: Renault Triber, the Kwid-based MPV. EDIT : Launched at Rs. 4.95 lakhs

If I heard correctly, the gentleman said its a new 1.0 engine, that is shared with Sandero globally, I quick search revealed the following numbers

Displacement: 998 cc
Power: 73 hp @6300 Rpm
Torque: 97 Nm @3500 Rpm
Emission standard : Euro VI b
Combined Fuel efficiency : ~ 19.2 kmpl (5.2l/100 km)

https://www.auto-data.net/en/dacia-s...sce-73hp-27377

Not bad figures at all, only thing is putting 7 full grown humans inside the car will be a bad idea.

Liked the design, especially the dashboard which reminds me of Skoda/VW cars, Its almost like Renault telling Datsun "Hey, thats how you do a car !"

From the first picture in this post, the cabin width seems to be on the lower side. If that's the case, 3 people in the second row will be a tight fit.

That said I'm impressed by the overall stance. So to Renault for that!
