Nissan has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the state government of Kerala to setup the first global IT centre in India.

The Nissan Digital Hub will enable the carmaker to develop new digital products including electric, autonomous, security and connected vehicle technologies. It will be initially based in Technopark, Trivandrum before moving to a permanent location in the city. Nissan also plans to setup similar IT centres in other parts of Asia, Europe and North America.

Renault-Nissan currently operates a manufacturing unit near Chennai. The maximum annual capacity of the plant is 4,80,000 units. The company also has an R&D centre in the city, which employs 7,000 engineers, while its sales headquarter is based in Gurgaon.

Re: Nissan to launch its first global IT center in India

As much as I hate Nissan's business decisions and its dealership network, I appreciate the enormous investments that the group has made in our country. And this is another one. Should definitely help IT professionals & upcoming IT graduates in Kerala & around, what with the job scene in the IT industry being so challenging today.
