The Delhi government is planning to start a doorstep service for documents like driving licenses (DL) and vehicle registration certificates (RC). Those opting for this service could be charged an additional fee of Rs. 50.



Applicants who wish to avail of this service will have to call a helpline number. Once an appointment is fixed, a 'mobile sahayak' will visit their home with a tablet to get the required online forms filled up. This service aims to assist those facing difficulty filling up the online forms, which are now mandatory.

Those applying for a new driving license are required to have a learners' license and will have to provide a passport size photograph. Upon submission of the online application, the applicants will be given a slot for the driving test, which will be conducted at the RTO. Once the test has been cleared, the permanent driving license will be delivered to their doorstep.

The process to obtain a transfer certificate (TC) will be similar. In this case, the applicant will have to submit the original RC, address proof of purchaser and PUC certificate. The transfer certificate and RC will be home-delivered.
