Boy, looks like the entire world is on the website. Too slow to load.

Buttttttttttttttt talk about attitude. In the comparision section, the Indigo is not even mentioned. They are comparing the Logans size to the Optra, New Honda City, Corolla and the Mercedes C Class!!

I must say : Good photography. The Logan actually looks luxurious in the pictures. Heres a quick comparo of pricing:

Logan / Indigo

Medium equipped Petrol : 471xxx / 455xxx
Entry level Diesel : 547xxx / 495xxx

Yup, its going to be WAR!

I dont know why mahindra engineers did not work on ground clearance,155mm that's going to a big drawback.

Pricing should definitely have been a little lower with regards to the base diesel model.

The swift infact looks more VFM than the logan to me,I dont think we should write away the swift. With regards to the indigo there are chances people could switch camps however again not a completely bleak situation for tata either. If only the logan would have been a little more aggressively priced, considering this is just an introductory pricing offer right now.

Finally it is here. Though many have raised doubts regarding its reliability i think it will be ok as all parts used are proven in many other vehicles. The company has tried to reduce rattles and other petty issues which keeps buyers out of cars. If it is priced well it will win many hearts.

Looks quite good from the outside....
But the interiors are suspect.... Particularly the dashboard....

I think the base model will sell well....the diesel high end is close to 7L (OR) ... I am not sure how well that would do....

From the photographs, it looks good. Looks like the GL and GLE variants dont any difference other than the power steeing. The Red, Green and White colors are not available for GL/GLE

The dashboard doesnt look very attractive atleast from the pics.
I think they should have priced it a little more aggressively.

Lets see who gets us the first review now

The article says that Logan will have a localisation of 50%. There is no way that a car can be priced well if it just that much. So, maybe the article is not accurate.

Website is too slow, I tried it even from USA super speed server, from there it loads quiet ok!

Looks like Indigo still cheap one but I guess logan gives better quality and more spacious too.

One disappointment is ground clearence 155mm may be its TYPO or it has good suspension which never hits ground for indian condition..

Trust me when I say the quality of the Logan is far ahead of the Indigo, its well worth the extra you pay.

And the diesel might not look adequate untill you drive one. Its quite torquey. Doesn't feel underpowered at all.

Website opening fast my end. Car looks gr8 from front. I am bit disappointed as they are focusing more towards selling their high end diesel model. Nothing in the base diesel model except for power steering.

Otherwise car looks good overall. Just need to check the refinement levels now..

The Logan was launched at 11:00 am today.

Our friends have already found out a lot about the car. But here's some more info not yet covered in the thread, IMHO.

Selected Mahindra dealerships will offer it in two phases:
Phase 1: 10 cities, booking commences in two weeks
Phase 2: Additional 15 cities, booking commences by May 2007.

Deliveries will start 4 weeks after booking.

The Logan will be available in six colours,
Toreador Red, Fiery Black, Sahara Beige, Mist Silver, Turf Green & Diamond White.

The Logan's HVAC system is designed to suit extreme Indian climates.

A wide bodied car in its class, the Logan offers full and comfortable seating for three people in the rear seat, which has three separate headrests. Its trunk capacity of 510 litres, is excellent for such a small car.

The fuel tank has been placed under the floorpan to prevent puncture in case of a rear-end collision. The dashboard is made of impact-absorbing polypropylene.

The diesel injection system features dedicated injector calibration, enabling the injection timing and flow to be controlled for each injector individually.
Cam profiles have been designed for high torque.

All engines come with a 5-speed Renault JH gearbox.

This car is NOT VFM. For 7 lakhs, U can get an Accent CRDi today at a bargain. With GTOs price comparisons, the indigo is cheaper!!

Mahindra, U have disappointed Mahendra (me)!!
