Exactly....I guess MUL should consider dropping the Baleno name or else customers wont assosciate it with an 8l price tag....

The latest I heard is that Maruti has slashed the discounts on the Baleno as production has stopped and there is'nt much stock remaining to be sold. Apparently, Baleno sales had picked up and was more or less matching production which was quite low. Production has been stopped to make way for the SX4 sedan. You'll can refer to the foll. sites for a lot more pics on the sedan which will be hitting the market pretty soon :

or

It seems the car is quite a hit in China.

No matter how much I look at the new Baleno, it doesn't do it to me. It just looks like Fiesta/Aveo clone.

Just like how people crave for OHC, I guess people will start craving for OMB.

Ah! here is Rudra's tribute to OMB.

Samurai Sir, As usual your Baleno looks awsome....Actually it was after seeing the pics of ur baleno tht our family decided to go for a baleno.....
Really a pity it is for the Maruti to discontinue it.....
When i was buyin the baleno the price diff b/w the baleno lxi and esteem vxi was around 20k or something.....i had bought it for 5.32 lakhs onroad.....
It would had been better to replace the esteem with the Baleno and replace the Baleno with the new model Baleno.....

i really wanted to post my pics too but it isnt anywhere near in quality to as posted by Samurai Sir.....hope to get a digi cam soon.....

Maruti and Suzuki have done the smart thing by obtaining rights not merely for 1.3 but also for 1.6 and 1.9. The 3,00,000 engine capacity Manesar plant would be Suzuki's sole diesel engine plant in the world. Suzuki and Maruti are taking diesels seriously this time. Competitors better watch out!
