It would eventually be launched , may be in late 2019 or 2020 in a BSVI compatible format.

I was going by GTO's post about a possible launch by the end of this year.

Re: S-Cross petrol launch around the corner?

The petrol S-Cross maybe launched by February 2019 if this report by Gaadiwaadi is true. But we can't be sure as they in general are talking about the engine only. They've not seen any test mules. It could be mere speculation.

Quote:
The new 1.5 L Petrol engine made its debut in the Ciaz facelift model is coming to S-Cross as per our sources and it will open the crossover to a bigger audience. In most of the segments, petrol models are the prefered option among customers because of the lower sticker price and maintenance cost compared to diesel.
Quote:
The S-Cross diesel range starts from Rs. 8.6 lakh and we can expect the base petrol model to be priced at least Rs. 50,000 cheaper. The K15B 1.5 L petrol engine produces 104.7 PS of power at 6,000 rpm and 138 Nm of torque at 4,400 rpm. The power is sent to front wheels via 5-speed manual and 4-speed auto.

Re: S-Cross petrol launch around the corner?

Shocking for me to see no development in this thread. What is Maruti doing? This segment definitely warrants a petrol engine, more now than ever. They have got a new petrol engine, Ciaz and Ertiga already got it but not their best dynamically sorted and best made car?

Re: S-Cross petrol launch around the corner?

Maruti is giving the S-Cross a WR-V treatment!

Underwhelming or not, they should have offered the Petrol in MT and AT (or CVT) at around the same time as the Ertiga.

BTW, I got a chance to TD the Ciaz AT and was certainly not disappointed with the K15 and 4 speed gearbox combination.

S Cross in petrol and full Hybrid variant will likely come only in 2020, BS VI compliant.
Maruti is now gearing up for a 7 Seat Vitara to take on Hyundai's Creta ( 7 seat version )which will be very competitively priced in that segment.

S-Cross and the Creta were competitors; Creta went on to succeed, whereas S-Cross wasn't that successful, instead of competing in a segment where it doesn't have much products, it must bring the cute looking 5-door version of the Jimny and see it succeed. Grand Vitara looks rather ordinary: like a blown up Brezza!

Re: S-Cross petrol launch around the corner?

I am eagerly looking forward to the S-cross Petrol launch as my 3rd car after the Hyundai Verna Next Gen diesel and an old Swift Petrol.
The power figures and torque figures for the 1.5 NA petrol seem very decent and on par with what Toyota Yaris provides. Only thing of interest is if they can provide a 6-speed CVT with it. The diesel alone sells 4000+ a month and the petrol will definitely set the sales charts on fire.

Re: S-Cross petrol launch around the corner?

S Cross is likely to get Suzuki’s new 1.5-litre petrol engine with Smart Hybrid tech. The 1.5L diesel too will be on offer and will come earlier than the Petrol version.

S-Cross petrol launch around the corner?-0_578_872_0_70_http___cdni_autocarindia_com_extraimages_20190424045650_marutiscross1_5petrold.jpg

The petrol engine will be Suzuki’s new K15B naturally aspirated 1.5-litre engine makes 105hp and 138Nm of torque. Also on board will be Suzuki’s Smart Hybrid system with a dual-battery setup, as seen on the Ciaz petrol.

Quote:
The hybrid tech could help the petrol S-Cross deliver some impressive fuel economy numbers. A 5-speed manual gearbox will be standard and there is buzz of a 4-speed automatic as well – the same tried-and-tested unit that is seen on many other Maruti models.

Re: S-Cross petrol launch around the corner?

I liked the S-cross and was eagerly awaiting a petrol powered one. Hoped for it to be introduced when the facelift came, then became hopeful again when the Ciaz engine got updated. When it didn't happen even months after Ciaz 1.5 petrol, just couldn't understand why Maruti wouldn't launch it. Got fed up of waiting and bought a City last month.

Re: S-Cross petrol launch around the corner?

So it's 19/Jan/2020 and no word of S-Cross Petrol yet. Looks like Auto Expo 2020 holds the key.
This is interesting though https://www.team-bhp.com/news/sales-...tarts-tomorrow
