Re: Tata HBX Concept @ Auto Expo 2020

This is a very important car. Hoping for: That legendary Tata-grade suspension; 60:40 seats; light inside the boot. Oh wait, solid air-conditioning unit too.

Re: Tata HBX Concept @ Auto Expo 2020

That's a stunning and well proportioned design! Kudos Tata, you've found your groove. Hoping you do the same magic to the quality control, pre and post sales and in my opinion nothing should stop you from being a number 3 player in the Indian market soon.

Re: Tata HBX Concept @ Auto Expo 2020

The HBX is said to reminiscent a Rhino and that’s why those Rhino markings on and in the car. I believe it’s a very apt reminiscence since this car looks compact yet tough. Also, Pratap Bose in one of yesterday’s interview at the expo with Autocar said that one showcased is 95% exactly what will be in production and what we will get as buyers. I guess the 5% what will not make are the tires and the copper inserts at certain places.

Re: Tata HBX Concept @ Auto Expo 2020

The design looks absolutely mouth watering delicious, if I may call it that. If the production one is very close to this and priced well, Tata can have my money. Way to go Tata and Mr. Bose!! Take a bow!

Re: Tata HBX Concept @ Auto Expo 2020

This car with an electric combination should be a perfect one for Daily City Commutation. Its very compact, good Ground clearance and looks beefed up. It has all the elements to tackle the bad roads, especially in Bangalore. Pratap Bose did mention in one of the AutoCar Interviews, that there will likely be a electric version of this car.

Re: Tata HBX Concept @ Auto Expo 2020

And that's how one does a Micro-SUV!! We have to give to Tata and Mr. Pratap Bose for pulling a masterstroke of a design given the dimensional constraint. Looks proportionate from every angle. Also, the interior quality seems to have improved vastly! Granted, the production version probably won't come with all those fabric and leather inserts on the doorpads and steering, but the plastics look richer in the pictures, at least. Maruti and Mahindra can take a leaf out of this exercise to mend their respective sorry excuses of a compact SUV - the Espresso and the KUV1OO!

See what Mr. Pratap Bose tweeted.

Re: Tata HBX Concept @ Auto Expo 2020

This is the best design along with kwid in micro SUVs. I like how the concept turned into the near-production form (this is 95% close to production as per Bose). I like this even better than the concept. Eagerly waiting for the EV variants of Sierra and HBX releases.

Tata new model designs are mixed bag for me (this is personal opinion):

Like:
Harrier,
Hexa,
HBX,
Sierra

Neutral:
Tiago,
Tigor

Dislike:
Nexon (facelift is good from the front but still too funky),
Altroz

Re: Tata HBX Concept @ Auto Expo 2020

OT: I am unable to find 205/75 R15 tyres online(in India). Is that a standard size? I wish to buy HBX; but only if 205/75 R15 size is available (wish it is available and in AT thread).

My current ride (Scorpio s10 AT) wears 265/65 R17.

Obviously jacked up for the concept car look.

The production version should come with more common tyre size and normal road-biased thread pattern. This isn't a 4WD vehicle!

Understand that. I love chunky tyres (small rim, more rubber!). If I had the option to upsize to 205/75 R15 from whatever stock size Tata plans, then I would be interested in HBX.

Re: Tata HBX Concept @ Auto Expo 2020

As much as I like the Tata designs: Nexon, Altroz, Harrier and HBX I really wish they spend more time on their interiors. The interior designs are not in sync with the exteriors and they can improve both on aesthetics and plushness. Purely my opinion.

Re: Tata HBX Concept @ Auto Expo 2020

TML designs have been improving by leaps and bounds with each car. This looks proportionate, muscular and beautiful from all sides. If you take my opinion, Tata motors should give an option of this car exactly how it is presented here...as a limited edition at least.

Re: Tata HBX Concept @ Auto Expo 2020

This does not look like a Kwid or Espresso competitor. This looks a segment up and can very well compete with Venue manual versions. The plan may be to move Nexon to compete with Creta and have this fight it out with Venue, WRV and all. Nexon with its 120 hp petrol engine is now on par with Creta.

Agreed. I was really feeling this car until I saw the interior. Very drab and out of place. I thought JLR was supposed to help TATA with their interior woes.
