It's great to see the altroz instrument cluster instead of the tiago instrument cluster. The tiago one used in the tiago, tigor and nexon looks like a mess and is a serious deal breaker for me. The altroz one is really premium and convenient to look. I am happy that tata uses this(which i believe is from visteon) for the ALFA products.

re: The Tata Punch (aka Hornbill) Compact SUV

As many buyers are skeptical of niggles in a completely new Tata product including me. But there are few reasons for which I feel there wont be much of niggles in Tata punch unlike other Tata launches.

1) More than 2 years of testing under all conditions and as the launch is delayed by at-least 6-9 months, they should had ironed out the niggles.

2) 1.2ltr petrol engine from Tiago and Altroz should be niggle free by now.

3) Above interior leaked images states that the instrument cluster is from Altroz and the touch screen infotainment system is same in Tata family, should be bug free and even its there should be pretty minor which could be solved by mere software update.

I just hope the other point is valid and gives me some mental satisfaction of buying it at launch.

re: The Tata Punch (aka Hornbill) Compact SUV

I was waiting for a car like this, according to me, Altroz is the best car under 10 lakhs currently because of its looks comfort and features with Value for money properties.
Only issue was Ground clearance in Altroz which the Punch takes care of.

Moreover it has almost everything derived from Altroz so according to me, its the best car under 10 lakhs
Talking about niggles, I don't think so that there will be many as TATA has already cleared many in the Altroz and since Punch has the same platform there will be only a few of them.

I have seen this post 15 times till now because I am just amazed with the interior, man it looks so dam good! The instrument cluster and beige interior is the cherry on the cake.
Definitely a great buy under 10 lakhs!

So, most of the parts are shared with Altroz. Instrument cluster, AC controls & infotainment screen are straight lift from Altroz.

My guess is that this will be priced on par with Altroz. Punch will be a good alternative for those do not like the flashy looks of Nexon. After all, it gives that mini Harrier vibes from front!

This sure looks like a car that will bring decent volumes for Tata.
Exteriors are quite pleasing to the eyes.

The only thing I dislike is the speedometer cluster.
It looks cheap IMO.

re: The Tata Punch (aka Hornbill) Compact SUV

Man niggles are part and parcel of any mechanical setup. It ain't that only Tata cars have niggles and other brands are immune to it. We have seen premium brands fail and seriously stranded vehicles in new launches. Our Team BHP forum is having many threads dedicated to such failures.

I would accept a car with niggles any day rather than having a car with Break Failure or Engine failure.

Eagerly awaiting the moment of being the Beta Tester.

Tata has really stepped up their game. Apart from minor rattles(Which could never be fixed permanently by TASS), never had any major issues on my 2016 Tiago till date and was never left stranded on any of my trips.

Expect PUNCH to be a runaway success.

re: The Tata Punch (aka Hornbill) Compact SUV

The car is really looking good in the red color. A perfect car for city drive. I just hope that TATA provides the turbocharged engine with it.
It also reminds me of the Hyundai Venue with Aggressive Front but muted rear.

The Punch on the rear is a Punch to all rivals who tail gate it.
Might as well Print the letters HBX and paste it on the tail gate.

One thing that I don't like is that ugly exhaust Pipe which can be clearly seen.

Tyres look Wide as it is 195/60/R 16, good profile.
I wish that TATA would have provided a skid plate. I hope we get it after market.

Note to Mod: I am sorry if I am over expressing myself, I am just too excited about this car.

Looks pretty good! Only thing I am not a fan of is the rear - while the overall look of the car is mini-SUVish, the rear looks like a plain jane tall hatch. Better pictures would help see this clearer.

This looks like another 5000 units per month car for Tata!

re: The Tata Punch (aka Hornbill) Compact SUV

The Punch looks hot in red with the black contrasting roof. The interiors look great with the body coloured inserts around the ac vents. This car is certainly going to be a winner from the Tata stable. Eagerly waiting for the official launch and price.

re: The Tata Punch (aka Hornbill) Compact SUV

The looks of this car is spot on, given what the mass wants in this segment. Should come with all the customary features. If only Tata prices the car right, it is going to be another >5000 units per month car.

re: The Tata Punch (aka Hornbill) Compact SUV

I have personally seen the topend Punch inside out in one of the dealerships in Mumbai. It is definitely not a so called micro SUV like Ignis. It is quite comparable in size with Nexon having more than sufficient ground clearance. The interior is quite spacious, may be more than the Nexon. The boot space will be lesser due to the reduced length than Nexon. It will definitely be a segment killer and will also take a big chunk of market share from its own brothers like Altroz and lower trims of Nexon.

What is stopping Tata from offering this cluster on the Nexon, considering the Nexon EV already has it. That calculator inspired cluster is a deal-breaker for many.

They should even offer it in Tiago and Tigor - why not use it when you have it?
