My sources tell that almost 3500 TATA Punch cars have already been produced. Production is being ramped from ~150 Cars/day. So the launch of TATA Punch should be pretty soon probably post media evaluation in coming days.

Tata Punch to be unveiled on October 4, 2021

The Tata Punch will be officially unveiled October 4, 2021.



The Punch is based on the ALFA-ARC (Agile Light Flexible Advanced Architecture) platform and features Tata's Impact 2.0 design.

The crossover gets a Harrier-like front fascia with a split grille. It gets slim LED daytime running lights, arrow-shaped tail lamps and a chunky dual-tone bumper. Higher variants of the car will get dual-tone colour options and diamond-cut alloy wheels.

The crossover comes with a dual-tone interior, with colour-matched inserts around the air-conditioner vents. A floating touchscreen infotainment system sits at the top of the centre console. The car is equipped with automatic climate control, cruise control and a semi-digital instrument cluster similar to that of the Harrier.

The Tata Punch is likely to be offered with a 1.2-litre petrol engine producing 85 BHP and 113 Nm. Higher variants of the car might get a turbocharged 1.2-litre motor, while transmission options are likely to include a 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT.

85 HP and AMT means most people will probably still go for the Nexon AMT as it is more powerful.

I'm guessing if (or when) Tata gets a good DCT gearbox, they will launch it in the Altroz, Nexon and Punch.

A more clear shot of Tata Punch. We had already seen the cruise control buttons and in this video we can see that it has cooled glove box too and voice command buttons.

I don't think Punch will be having terrain modes, mostly it will have drive modes which can be controlled by the infotainment system.

P.S This colour looks amazing, minus the big black cladding on doors.

The engine as always will remain the weak point, they're launching it only with 1.2 NA engine and only 5 speed MT, no automatic and no turbo petrol: All Hallmarks of a Tata hurried launch. They'll bring out the rest of the variants in coming months or years...Better to wait for Casper the friendly ghost

Casper isn't under consideration for India. It is smaller than Santro. They are not able to place it in their India lineup.

Also, this article is based on just speculations and nothing else. AMT is already almost confirmed as the teaser images released had only two pedals. Hope turbo is also available at launch.

My birdie tells me that car will have options to choose from 1.2 NA & 1.2 Turbo Petrol. It will come with 5-speed Manual & AMT.
